I joined WWOOF because I want to spend more time on the land, learning about permaculture, regenerative farming, and other sustainable ways of growing food. I love the idea of exchanging knowledge, helping out, and learning directly from people who are doing it every day. For me, it’s about more than farming — it’s about connection: with nature, with people, and with the work we do. I’m hoping to share what I know, pick up new skills, and give my energy to projects that make the planet a little healthier.

We are Michelle and Aaron, a married couple from Adelaide, 15 minutes from the city. Our 2.4-hectare property in Belair sits in the Hills Face Zone with stunning sea views. The land is currently untouched bushland (formerly a quarry, then government-owned) and we’re starting fresh. Our vision is to create an off-grid permaculture paradise with an Earthship eco-home, food forest, and organic gardens. Right now, the work is about establishing the basics—weed removal, safe access tracks, and building a composting toilet—before moving into building the Earthship home, food production and regeneration. At this stage there are no amenities on site—we aren’t living there yet—so it suits self-sufficient WWOOFers with a caravan/camper. We only ask for a few hours’ help each week in exchange for a peaceful base surrounded by nature.

We chose to join WWOOF because we think it is the best way to discover Australia in an authentic way. By staying with families, we can share daily life, exchange cultures, and practice English while also helping with useful tasks. For us, WWOOFing is more meaningful than being simple tourists, because it allows real human connections and the opportunity to learn new skills while traveling.

I joined WWOOF to gain some experience and knowledge in organic and regenerative farming so as to implement it on my own farm in the near future. Especially with cattle and other livestock.

I think WWOOF is the perfect opportunity to stay short term in a job. It gives the chance to see a little bit more of the real daily life of the Australians. The working fields can be really flexible which makes it even more challenging and interesting!

Skills I Want to Learn:
I want to join WWOOF because I want to experience farm life, learn new skills, and experience Australian culture. I am also very motivated to improve my English through total immersion. I love animals, especially horses, and I am excited to help with daily tasks while learning from my hosts. For me, WWOOFing is a great way to meet new people, share experiences, and make a positive contribution to a farm or equestrian center.

Our property is a small 5 acre block set amongst others in a bush setting beside a beautiful coastal Forest. We have a vegetable and fruit garden semi established. Our home sits at the back of the block overlooking a vista of gum trees and lawn. We have a pool for cooling off in after working in the garden. Bird life is abundant here and there are a family of kangaroos who graize, and move freely around the neighbouring blocks. We are located 5 minutes drive, or a 20 minute bicycle ride from the beach. The adjoining forest is a fabulous place to walk, and has mountain bike tracks throughout.

I would love to help and meet people. WWOOF seems to be a really nice way to do so. I want to learn about the country and give something in return. I love gardening, animals and being around in a family. It's my plan tot visit Australia for three weeks. I will arrive in Darwin around the 28 of july and leave to New Zealand around the 18 of august. Area's that I really want to visit are Alice Springs, Cairns en Hervey Bay (I really would love to see whales ).

I joined WWOOF to live more intentionally — closer to nature, simplicity, and real human connection. For me, it’s not just about farming, but about learning how to live in balance, share kindness, and grow in understanding of sustainable and mindful living.

Our beautiful 5 acre berry farm is located in Victoria's Central Highlands region near the renowned spa town of Daylesford. We have rich volcanic soils and are nestled on a high plain that is dotted with small extinct volcanos. We use regenerative farming techniques (permanent raised beds, heavy mulching, integrating native flora etc) to produce summer berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries) as well as garlic for sale at local farmers markets. We also make a range of artisanal products in our commercial kitchen including smoked garlic and a range of jams and chutneys. We can offer quality accommodation in our well appointed barn conversion (you will have your own kitchen and bathroom) and lots of tasty organic produce. We (Ben and Rachel) both went wwoofing in our 20s and we look forward to providing quality wwoof experiences to a new generation of travelers, as well as giving our two young children the opportunity to meet people from different parts of the world. When we aren't farming we are often bushwalking, bike riding, camping and exploring local festivals.

As I am on my WHV right now, I'd love to complete the 88 days whilst combining it with things I love: nature (and not just the city's local park ...), organic farming and food produce, sustainablility, learning new practices, meeting new people and sharing experiences, knowledge.... I could go on and on... What I want to say, is that I love to the concept of WWOF, I've done plenty of workaway projects (a website very similar to WWOF) where I've worked on smaller sustainable projects where I've helped with planting, harvesting, taking care of vegetable gardens, maintanance and gettign creative with natural building materials (we built a rocket stove or patched up a door), helped with the flooring of a house boat.... (my name there is evakessler in case you want to look it up) And I'm not exacerbating when I'm saying that some of my best memories come from workaway/ volunteering on exactly those projects!! I'm looking for a project/ place to stay for these 88 days, but not just to "do my time" but to be part of your home/ place if you'd like, to help where I can, to learn, share and laugh :))
