I joined WWOOF because it was recommended as a good way to help me meet the requirements for extending my Working Holiday visa. However, I chose this path not just to fulfil a requirement, but because I truly want to have an experience I would love and enjoy. Volunteering is something I’ve always been passionate about, and I’ve looked for opportunities to do it even back in my home country.

I enjoy the concept of helping/ working for food, accomodation and cultural exchange. Plus, I'm still young and am eager to learn more about my self and get to know all kinds of people.

Through this experience, I seek to learn new techniques, discover Australian nature and its culture, contribute to the protection of nature, and also meet new people from here and elsewhere.

I joined WWOOF to find places to stay in Australia as I travel - my goal is to ground myself through the peace that exists on a working farm, to learn more about the land in Aus, and to meet new people (hosts and others I may cross paths with along the way).

My name is Eunjung Kim from Korea and I'm a woman. I'm applying because I want to experience whoop life. I have a Thai friend who is a man. Both of them are new to Australia, unfamiliar with this trip, and don't know much about it yet. I hope it will be a beneficial time to help each other during our whoop life together. I prefer vegetarianism. My Thai friend also eats egg, dairy, and fish with vegetarian food. We honestly don't like Western food, so if you give us the ingredients, we'll cook on our own. We love animals, so it doesn't matter if you take care of animal farms or pets. Please contact us a lot

We joined WWOOF to be able to travel in Australia while discovering the culture, agriculture and animals. We are 2 friends who have been on an adventure for at least 1 year and we find Woofing to be a very good alternative to travel while working. Especially to help people who need help in exchange for good care.

Coming from Singapore, almost 100% of our food is imported and city life is very much the norm - there are very little opportunities to interact or experience farm life. As cliche as it sounds, WWOOF is a great opportunity to learn first-hand from owners while getting to integrate myself into the day-to-day lives of Australian families. I'm excited to exchange stories, learn from each other and do my best to contribute! 🙂 While I might not have the most relevant farming experience, I'm eager to learn and help out wherever possible.

I have dipped my toe in biodynamic gardening a number of years ago and was really interested in it. Would love to learn more about this practice and others that prioritise working in flow with nature and taking care of it in a sustainable way. I see Wwoofing as a really great way to contribute positively to the country I am travelling in. As well as being a great opportunity to meet like minded people and learn new skills about how you can live more sustainably.

Accommodation Type: In Our Home
We live in the Yarra Valley on 5 acres of bush, gardens and paddocks, in a house that carries the history of the area. We are aiming to establish a self-sufficient, sustainable farm with organic orchard, veggie patch & farm animals. In 2009 we were affected by bushfire and ever since we have been trying not only to improve the property's character and charm, but also prepare it to the next fire season On our farm you can enjoy not only the company of our family (there are 4 of us), but also all the animals: 3 dogs, a cat, parrots, peacocks, pheasants and chooks. You can experience farm life while making jams, chopping wood, feeding animals, organising veggie patch as well as fixing fencing, planting trees and preparing property for different weather condition. Accommodation for 2 people in our home (spare rooms) or caravan. Mixed diet. Work hours are flexible as we have the policy of "work must be done."

Why I want to join is quite simple. I want to get to know the Australian country life but not only that. I want to work on a few farms. I want to learn more about permaculture and get to know the lives of people, animals and plants...I hope for a really great experience.

I joined WWOOF because I was looking for a good alternative to work and travel. As I'm only travelling for a few months, the working holiday visa isn't worth it for me and wwoofing offers a great opportunity to work and get to know the people and the country anyway. Moreover I'm very interested in agriculture/farming and I would love to expand my knowledge in this field.

I am eager to learn new skills and broaden my horizon. In fact, that is the whole reason I started travelling in the first place. I want to try new things, gain new perspectives, connect with other cultures and drink in every lesson that no school can teach me. WWOOFing seems like a great way to travel and explore Australia, while also contributing something. Living, learning, and working with Australian families allows you to get to know the country beyond the big cities and gives you unique and invaluable experiences that you cannot make anywhere else.

After I finished University, I wanted to take some time away to experience something different. I wanted to experience new places and cultures and spend some time outdoors volunteering. Wwoofing is a great way to do this. I enjoy spending time in nature and learning new things and I am fit and strong. I have spent much of the last 9 months wwoofing in a variety of different countries such as  Germany, Sweden, Finland, New Zealand and now Australia. It had been a really valuable and amazing experience.

I want to join WWOOF because I will be travelling to Australia for my working holiday in a few weeks. I already have some experience working on farms and I am a very nature-loving person. A few years ago, I worked on a organic farm for two weeks as a part of a school project. I took on tasks such as weeding, harvesting and chopping wood. I also fed animals. Furthermore, in the ninth grade, I helped out on a different farm every Tuesday for a few weeks, harvesting apples, pressing apple juice, harvesting vegetables and preparing them for sale. In the 11th grade, as part of a school project, I completed a small farming machine driving licence.

My friend recommend me to WWOOF, so I can extend my visa. I’m interested in Outback Australia. I would like to meet new people and experience farm life.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
