Accommodation Type: In Our Home
We live in the Yarra Valley on 5 acres of bush, gardens and paddocks, in a house that carries the history of the area. We are aiming to establish a self-sufficient, sustainable farm with organic orchard, veggie patch & farm animals. In 2009 we were affected by bushfire and ever since we have been trying not only to improve the property's character and charm, but also prepare it to the next fire season On our farm you can enjoy not only the company of our family (there are 4 of us), but also all the animals: 3 dogs, a cat, parrots, peacocks, pheasants and chooks. You can experience farm life while making jams, chopping wood, feeding animals, organising veggie patch as well as fixing fencing, planting trees and preparing property for different weather condition. Accommodation for 2 people in our home (spare rooms) or caravan. Mixed diet. Work hours are flexible as we have the policy of "work must be done."

I joined WWOOF because I was looking for a good alternative to work and travel. As I'm only travelling for a few months, the working holiday visa isn't worth it for me and wwoofing offers a great opportunity to work and get to know the people and the country anyway. Moreover I'm very interested in agriculture/farming and I would love to expand my knowledge in this field.

I am eager to learn new skills and broaden my horizon. In fact, that is the whole reason I started travelling in the first place. I want to try new things, gain new perspectives, connect with other cultures and drink in every lesson that no school can teach me. WWOOFing seems like a great way to travel and explore Australia, while also contributing something. Living, learning, and working with Australian families allows you to get to know the country beyond the big cities and gives you unique and invaluable experiences that you cannot make anywhere else.

After I finished University, I wanted to take some time away to experience something different. I wanted to experience new places and cultures and spend some time outdoors volunteering. Wwoofing is a great way to do this. I enjoy spending time in nature and learning new things and I am fit and strong. I have spent much of the last 9 months wwoofing in a variety of different countries such as  Germany, Sweden, Finland, New Zealand and now Australia. It had been a really valuable and amazing experience.

I want to join WWOOF because I will be travelling to Australia for my working holiday in a few weeks. I already have some experience working on farms and I am a very nature-loving person. A few years ago, I worked on a organic farm for two weeks as a part of a school project. I took on tasks such as weeding, harvesting and chopping wood. I also fed animals. Furthermore, in the ninth grade, I helped out on a different farm every Tuesday for a few weeks, harvesting apples, pressing apple juice, harvesting vegetables and preparing them for sale. In the 11th grade, as part of a school project, I completed a small farming machine driving licence.

My friend recommend me to WWOOF, so I can extend my visa. I’m interested in Outback Australia. I would like to meet new people and experience farm life.

A friend of mine recommended WWOOF to me, and after learning more about it, I became really interested. I’ve been living in Australia for several months now, and I want to experience a different kind of life—closer to nature, with hands-on work and meaningful cultural exchange. I think WWOOF is a great way to meet local people, learn about organic farming, and see parts of Australia I wouldn’t normally get to visit. I also want to improve my English through real conversations and daily life, not just in a classroom. Living and working with a host family sounds like a unique and rewarding opportunity. Since my friend had a great experience with WWOOF, I feel confident that I will too. I’m excited to learn new skills, help out, and create good memories while working towards my second-year visa.

Skills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Gardening
Why I want to join WWOOF, my boss was a member of WWOOF before and he recommended me to join it. Also, my parents used organic foods or cosmetic products when they grew up. I have worked at the organic farm company for two and a half years. I understand general agriculture and organic thinking by my experiences. However, the company that I have worked for was not my ideal farming system such as using available pesticides as much as possible, most of the vegetables grown are thrown away without composting. I want to do more eco-friendly farming. Since I have learned about regional collaboration at the university, I have been curious about local people’s lives. I want to stay with local people to not only know that area’s climates but also to interact with their local cultures. Learning many various lifeworks is important for me because I want to have my own organic farm in the future. And of course, I will share my experience or knowledge, so, I hope to collaborate with you and create new ideas.

Because I want to try new things communicating with local people and learning culture. I've never experienced farming, gardening or something like that before. So I'm really interested in it, and I'm so happy if I have chance to try it learning a lot of new things in Australia. I hope to get used to Australian lifestyle, learn about Australian culture and farming, and improve my English skills by WWOOFing.

I worked at a restaurant in Japan, so I’ve always been interested in food. I joined WWOOF because I’d like to try it as a new life experience. Also, I’d like to be in an English-speaking environment and feel Australian culture. Through WWOOF, I’d like to improve my English, meet new people, and learn more about Australia. I hope these experiences will help me grow and broaden my horizons.

We are Pepe and Feo and we would like to use our time here in Australia to connect with new people and collect new ideas and knowledge. It’s also important for us to learn new skills, as we don’t know what kind of jobs we want to fulfill in the future. Wwoofing would be the best chance to achieve all these things.

I want to have the opportunity to experience Australia and learn new things. Previously, I have worked on a form in Ireland and really enjoyed it; now I want to do the same in Australia and play some rugby league during my time here.

I live on the Sunshine Coast working a casual job on the ocean that is highly weather dependent. I have lots of free time given the poor weather and given I’ve seen the impact of the recent cyclone and flooding rains in March-May, I’d love to help local farms get back on their feet. I love to be outdoors, adore animals and working with plants.

I'd love to try WWOOF-ing as I want to learn where our food comes from and how to potentially be self-sufficient! As well as learning about different farming practices, organic vs non organic, working through different seasons and what that means for us as farmers/planters and our health impacts. During my time here, I'd love to gain a variety of experiences, try different ways of living, too meet genuine people and get out to the countryside 🙂

I have no permanent employment currently and want to use my time working in related areas and keeping fit at the same time. I have winery and grape vine experience, and operating tractors.
