I joined WWOOF because of my love for travel, nature and animals. This experience allows me to visit Australia while meeting people and learn the different ways people live their lives here. I seek to learn new and more ways to farm, take care of a land and animals! I see it as a wonderful experience, to exchange and learn from the locals. I do not seek traditional tourist vacation in expensive hotels or very touristic places, so this form of travelling is the one that fits best and excites me the most to travel to 🙂

After living in Sydney working in a hotel for a while and travelling up the East Coast from Sydney to Cairns, I joined WWOOF to experience true Aussie life! I want to learn more about Aussie lifestyle specifically in the countryside to make my Aussie experience well-rounded 🙂 I've used the website Workaway while traveling in Asia and have volunteered in 4 different places (Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia) and these have been my best travel experiences as I was deep into local culture.

I joined WWOOF after being recommended by a friend who thought it would be something I would enjoy. I want to be around animals, be in nature, and experience the farmlife way of living. I also would like to meet Australian people/people who live and work in Australia as their home and not just other travellors in hostels so I can experience the culture 🙂

I grew up close to the land—planting vegetables, raising chickens, and even building a small wooden cabin when I was young. I feel very comfortable working outdoors and doing physical tasks. Through WWOOF, I hope to experience real, local life, connect with people, and learn about different ways of living in harmony with nature. I also want to challenge myself, learn new skills, and contribute to meaningful projects. I believe this is a great way to grow while helping others.

I want to join Woof because I'm coming to Australia in a few months and I'd like to be able to do some voluntary work to discover a new way of life on a farm. I hope to learn new skills and be able to help the people who will welcome me. I love nature and animals. What's more, it's a great way to meet new people in Australia, to familiarize myself with the country.

I AM also an Artist who needs some time 'alone' in Nature. I would love to do some work with animals and garden for my keep, and be able to get some painting done along the way. In essence are family IS aligned with the principles WWOOF stands for, and, in part, I would love to settle with my family on the land one day also. So, I'm 'trying it out'.

I joined WWOOF because I’m longing to reconnect with the earth, live more simply, and learn practical, hands-on skills that align with my values in health and holistic living. I’m tired of the fast-paced, disconnected lifestyle of the city and want to immerse myself in meaningful, grounded experiences where I can contribute, grow, and be part of something real. WWOOF felt like the perfect fit — a way to explore new environments, meet like-minded people, and gain a deeper understanding of sustainable living, all while giving back and learning through experience. I'm excited to step outside of my comfort zone and be part of a community that values nature, connection, and a slower, more intentional way of life.

Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type:
Sea to Soil farm is a 390 acre permaculture inspired farm 20kms south of Streaky Bay, near Sceale Bay on the Eyre Peninsula. Our passion at the farm is reviving broad acre farmland and growing a variety of fruits and vegetables. We also love revegetating the barren paddocks with a diversity of plants to help build soil and bring life and habitat to the farm. We use chickens, ducks and guinea fowl in our orchard for eggs, protein, manure and pest control and are constantly learning and observing from the journey.

I had a farm experience in Melbourne, Australia, where I enjoyed experiencing Australia's nature and animals, and developed a longing for speaking English. Through the farm stay, I was able to learn about other people's culture and values, which were completely different from the Japanese values I had, and I fell in love with Australia. My sister also studied abroad on the Gold Coast, so I have a positive and friendly image of Australia. It has been my dream since I was little to be surrounded by an English-only environment, and I have been studying English every day, so I want to improve my English skills. I would be glad to work in your farm and I'm eager to learn more about farming!!
