Skills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Biodynamics practices and techniques
I’m seeking to learn more about permaculture, meet communities with alternative lifestyles and see how they bild up there places and life’s. The best way for me to learn is when I’m actively involved and this is what I’m hoping to receive.

I genuinely just want to learn anything and everything you have to teach me! I want to gain knowledge and life experience with a specific interest in horticulture, ecology, permaculture, sustainable agriculture, etc. I want to travel around Australia and explore the beautiful landscape while staying productive

Accommodation Type:
300 acre farm on the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, using regenerative farming principles to restore the land. We are just starting out, running 40-50 head of cattle, and are planning to get pigs, chickens, ducks and geese. We also endeavour to run a sizeable compost system using food scraps from nearby restaurants, and to establish a worm farm for fertilizer. We don't use any chemical sprays - we dig out all the weeds and take them to the green waste at the nearby dump. We are combatting erosion by building leaky weirs and planning to dig swales to capture water, and planning rotational grazing to help build soil, grow grass, and manage weeds. We don't vaccinate our cows, nor do we give them any grain or antibiotics.

We joined Wwoof because we think it's a good way to get in touch with locals and get to know their everyday life and culture on the other side of the world. We are also very interested in the diverse farms with different plants and animals. We want to gain knowledge and nice experiences.

We have joined WWOOF as we would love the opportunity to spend some time getting to know the land and meeting some new people along the way on our travels. I in particular would also love to learn more about sustainable agricultural methods and do more home produce cooking!

Want to meet all kind of different people and experience different lifestyle. Easy going, always keen to try something different. I’ve travelled 8 years ago in NZ and discovered wwoofing over there and loved working on farms.

To be able to learn new abilities (in all kinds of fields), to challenge myself and to learn from other people (their opinions). A travel friend was very enthusiastic about WWOOF, she loved being on a farm and she got me curious and excited too.

I believe in the value of exchanging skills and experiences with people from all around the world. Volunteering is a great way for me to immerse myself in Australian culture, meet new people, and contribute to meaningful projects. I love the idea of sharing my time and learning from others, all while exploring the beauty of nature and working in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

We chose to do WWOOFing because it aligns with the way we want to travel — slow, meaningful, and connected. We want to meet locals, experience different ways of life, and help out while discovering Australia in an authentic way. We are also hoping that our WWOOFing experience will count towards our 88 days of specified work, so we can stay longer and continue our journey here. Growing up in the countryside, we’ve always been around animals — especially dogs and cats, and in Gabriel’s case also chickens, goats, and rabbits. We both lived in houses with gardens, and we enjoy taking care of outdoor spaces and working with our hands. This experience is also a way for us to practice and improve our English, by having real conversations and living in an English-speaking environment. WWOOFing is perfect for us: we’re on a tight budget, but full of motivation, kindness, and the desire to learn and share.

Love to travel and sustainable agriculture, viticulture, work on farms etc. Think you offer a perfect opportunity to get in touch with Australian community culture and combine work with travels, while meeting people from all over the globe. In the Netherlands you were highly recommended by travel journalist Floortje Dessing!

We're excited to learn more about living sustainably off-grid, permaculture, growing organic food, or anything related to this lifestyle. This is something we plan to do for ourselves once we own our own property in the future, so learning these practical skills sounds great. We're eager to learn and grow through this experience, we're very open-minded people who enjoy meeting alternative community.

In this trip I want to meet new people, enrich myself with new experiences, discover the country thanks to... volunteer missions! I have already been on a mission to South Africa, to a rehabilitation centre for animals. I am looking to find a mission close to nature, the environment, like permaculture, the farm but not only I am very open and looking for many different proposals!

We are a small acre farm located on the FishRiver in the tiny historic hamlet of O'Connell NSW, 2.5 hours from Sydney. We boast one of only three regions in Australia that has the right conditions, climate and soil to grow saffron - the world's most expensive spice! We are willing to share the secrets of saffron and its natural magic in exchange for some assistance with harvesting and processing. We also grow garlic and other vegetables and have a small orchard with many cool climate varieties.

We have been doing wwoofing and different work for accommodations for the past year and a half now in the US and Canada and now Australia. We find it is the best way to immerse ourselves in the areas, meet like minded people, learn different skills, explore different styles of living and share our knowledge.

I recently moved to the Island. My vision is to grow an organic garden. My place is just Walking distance to Rocky Point where the bush meets the bay. The amenities on the island are a market place, shops, cafes, police & ambulance, volunteer Fire Brigade Chemist, Sports ground and facilities, Art group, Community Center & Swimming pool, If you have any questions you're welcome to contact the above for further details. You will be sharing a two bedroom house with two mature adults. My home is a beautiful country style house known as a “Queenslander”. I have an Art studio downstairs where I create my art of pottery and oil painting. Where I live is surrounded by conservation land with birds, wildlife and fauna. Enjoy waking upto birds singing their morning songs, the breeze in the trees, and the sounds and smells of nature. Yet we are only 10 minutes from the shops and ferry terminal. Google Russell Island to find out how to travel here by car or train, bus and ferry.

My parents used to host Wwoofers on their 150 acre property quite a few years ago, so I have been exposed to it a bit. I joined for the adventure and experience of meeting new people and to see how they live as well as being able to help out. At the moment the plan is that there is no plan, when normally I like to be organised and to know where I am going and what I am doing (good Virgo trait). So being comfortable in the uncomfortable, to let go, surrender and trust, and to see where the universe takes me is where I am at.

The opportunity to contribute to an inspiring and vital way of life is the driving factor behind our keen-ness to partake in WWOOF. A day of nature volunteering is transformative and so to elongate that time would be a privilege and a joy. Since reading 'Ultra Processed People' by Chris Van Tulleken - one of our favourite books which details the harms of ultra-processed foods, we have actively sought to be mindful of what we consume and its impacts on people and the planet. We are so excited to meet new people and grow because of it and we are fascinated with the intricacies of organic farming and the love and care that goes into it.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
