This is because I want to have an experience that I can't get through regular sightseeing, and I want to feel a connection with the local people through communication and doing common tasks. Additionally, it is important to us that the children have the opportunity to interact with each other.

I joined WWOOF to experience farm life and I hope to be able to use my skills, improve them and in particular learn a lot of new things. I want to get to know the Australian way of life, meet new people, make friends from different nations and become a member of a community of like-minded people.

The reason why I try to join in WOOF is that I would like to have an opportunity to stay with people in different backgrounds and work in a farm.   In Japan, Australia is known as an agricultural country and I often see a lot of imported products from Australia such as beef and flour. I believe that understanding Australian agriculture through practical experiences will greatly benefit my dream of working in international companies because these companies deal with exports and imports with foreign countries including Australia. Through the experience of WWOOF, I hope to gain great experiences in Australia while also improving my English skills.   My English level is intermediate and I can have a basic conversation.   I would be glad to work in your nice farm. Thank you!!

I joined WWOOF to experience a rich human connection, discover new cultures, and connect with passionate people. It also allows me to learn skills related to farm life while making a tangible contribution. It's a great opportunity to travel in a different way, while building authentic connections and experiencing unique experiences.

I joined WWOOF so that I can meet local australians and get to know the country with the help of people who live there. Volunteering is a great way to get to know people and I’m really looking forward to meeting host families who I can feel at home with even if I’m on the other side of the globe from where I live. Being able to help by volunteering is also very important to me and I really hope that I can make families everyday life easier by helping them with anything they might need assistance with.

I joined WWOOF because I miss working with my hands and being part of something tangible. I deeply admire the work farmers do and am eager to learn more about sustainable living and food systems. I’m excited to get my hands dirty, learn through experience, and contribute in any way I can—while making connections and gaining a deeper appreciation for the land and the people who care for it.

I joined WWOOF through American Institute of Foreign Studies (AIFS) and I believe WWOOF offers the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience while supporting local farms and communities. I’m excited to immerse myself in the Australian countryside, expand my skills, and contribute to meaningful work. It’s not just about helping out, but also about growing personally, understanding new ways of living, and learning from each unique experience.

City/Town:
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type:
Valley Hay Supplies is located in The Lockyer Valley. It is a scenic and fertile region in southeastern Queensland, Australia, often referred to as “Australia’s Salad Bowl” due to its rich agricultural production. Situated between Brisbane and Toowoomba, it combines the peaceful charm of rural life with dramatic natural beauty. The landscape is a patchwork of lush farmland, gentle rolling hills, rugged escarpments, and river flats fed by the Lockyer Creek. The climate is warm and temperate, making it ideal for growing vegetables, fruits, and grains year-round. You’ll find fields stretching toward the horizon, interspersed with small towns like Gatton, Laidley, and Forest Hill that offer a warm country welcome and glimpses into Australia’s farming heritage.

I discovered this opportunity while thinking about how I could contribute to society, and I genuinely wanted to be a part of it. I also wanted to experience a sense of accomplishment by working hard and achieving something through the farm.

I joined WWOOF because I would like to learn all kinds of stuff about farming and the life in Australia. I generally like a more peaceful life like on a farm and not in the city in a random hostel with a job like most backpackers

I joined WWOOF to reconnect with my roots in farm life and to learn more about sustainable agriculture. Growing up on a farm, I developed a love for nature, animals, and outdoor activities, which I want to deepen through hands-on experiences. I hope to contribute my skills, whether it’s physical tasks, caring for animals, or helping with daily farm operations. WWOOFing is also an opportunity for me to immerse myself in a new culture, meet like-minded people, and exchange knowledge. With my diverse professional background, I adapt quickly and enjoy discovering new ways of working and living. My English level is quite basic, as I learned it in school, but I am motivated to improve and communicate as best as I can. My goal is to leave a positive impact on the farms I visit while gaining valuable skills and memories to carry with me for life. Thank you for considering my profile I look forward to helping and learning from you!

We joined WWOOF because it offers an opportunity to travel Australia in a way that allows us to interact with people from the areas we are visiting and make friends as we go. We want to learn more about sustainable living options and methods, as we hope to one day have our own property and would like to be as self-sustainable as possible. There are so many different eco systems in Australia and we would like to see how different challenges are handled in different areas - different plant and animal species, availability and quality of water, different soil compositions and how this affects gardening, options for handling waste, and so much more.

When I decided to come to Australia on a working holiday, I set two main goals for myself. The first is to have experiences that I could never have in Japan. I’m certain that participating in WWOOF will offer me unique and amazing opportunities that I could never experience while living in a Japanese city. The second goal is to connect with people. I look forward to meeting wonderful hosts and creating meaningful relationships during my time here.

Well, my mom’s friend, who is incredibly inspiring and kind, used to live on a farm in Australia. She recommended I join the WWOOF community while traveling there to make new discoveries and broaden my perspective on life. It’s also a great way for me to reconnect with the earth and nature, while at the same time fulfilling the 88 days of regional/farm work needed to apply for a second working holiday visa.

About a year ago, friends introduced me to WWOOFing. They were really excited and had a great time. From that moment on, I thought I had to do it myself. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and gaining new experiences.
