Nurrewin is a property situated 2 hours north of Sydney, in the beautiful Wollombi Valley. Situated 15 minutes from the historic village of wollombi, the 35 hectares of native forest is a wildlife sanctuary on an old Aboriginal land. The main house is a traditional pole house, with large decks and verandah, built on a cleared elevated plateau with beautiful views of the valleys around. Adjacent is another building, converted in an artist studio. The property is completely autonomous, off the grid, with a powerful solar installation, rainwater tanks, phone and internet communication by satellite. The forest is composed of grey gums, red gums, blue gums, mountain ash, stingybark, turpentine, white mahogany, iron ark, wattles…etc, it was affected by the 2019/2020 bushfire and since then has been regenerating. I am an artist, I have a solo painting exhibition every 2 years. I share my time between painting in the studio and looking after the forest, mainly clearing areas to create firebreaks in the forest, or weeding invasive non native species after regeneration. The place is very peaceful, unique natural environment, with wildlife all around : many birds, wallabies, wombats, goannas, possums…etc I am a musician, playing piano and accordéon. I am also a volunteer for the Wollombi Valley Arts Council, managing 2 galleries for local and aboriginal artists in Wollombi village.

I hope I might glean something of the art of ‘living well’. La bonne vie, l’art de vivre - call it what you will, it is what I think everyone should aspire to, and it can mean different things to different people. My idea of it happens to align with those who host wwoofers: hospitality; growing good food off the land; existing en plein air. Who knows, perhaps one day I might join the ranks of Wwoofing hosts, ready to pass on the secrets to the good life.

I already worked as a WWOOFer in Ireland and it was one of my best experiences I had. Therefore I plan to work as a WWOOFer again in Australia. I enjoyed most to experience the culture on the farm and work with the animals. My hobby is horse riding. That's why I'm looking for a farm or ranch with horses. In Ireland my chores were milking the goats twice a day, harvest vegetables, weeding, take care of the 2 horses and a lot more.

I joined WWOOF because I’m passionate about sustainable living, organic farming, and learning through hands-on experience. I hope to deepen my understanding of eco-friendly agriculture, contribute meaningfully to your daily work, and connect with people who share a love for nature and community. WWOOFing offers a unique opportunity to exchange culture, skills, and values, and I’m excited to grow personally while helping others along the way.

I joined WWOOF because I love the aspect of communal living. I love meeting new people and learning about their culture. I enjoy outdoor work and labour and with WWOOFing I have a chance to do both those things while working alongside others. I WWOOFed for a month in Hawaii on an aquaponics operation and it was one of the best experiences of my life. As a kid growing up I picked berry every summer on my uncles farm and I am willing to do any job big or small.

Primrose park is 6000 acres of beautiful, natural native land at Springsure, Central Highlands Queensland. The main homestead is approximately 50 metres from the original cottage house where our volunteers will stay. At the heart of everything we do are systems that promote land regeneration, free range animals and pure, non-tampered with fruits and vegetables. Our focus is Natural Sequence Farming, time controlled grazing and Joel Salatin's farming principles which mimic natural ecosystem processes. We do not sell any produce from our farm, our aim is to be merely self sufficient while helping Mother Nature to regenerate. The farm is open for volunteers to assist us in our personal gardens and animals, feeding the pigs and moving the chickens. Volunteers may also assist with some building and/or maintaining infrastructure, constructing leaky weirs, fixing fences, and gardening. We hope that having volunteers join us will be mutually beneficial. Volunteers will gain rewarding, hands-on experience, while we receive much-needed help around the farm. We offer comfortable accommodation in the original cottage house which has 7 bedrooms, shower, toilet, laundry, outdoor kitchen and lounge room. Linen, food, cutlery, crockery, cooking and cleaning needs are provided, with two separate outdoor verandahs to sit and enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Volunteers who stay at our place will gather knowledge and experience in a friendly farm stay environment.

Because I would like to gain agricultural experience.WWOOF provides me an opportunity to learn about farming practices, from planting and cultivating crop to tending livestock. I can work on themselves in the daily routines of organic farms, honing their skills under the guidance of experienced farmers. I can acquire not only practical skills but also developing a greater appreciation for the importance of sustainable farming methods. I can experience something I’ve never before. And I would like to communicate with local people and the friends I meet there. I like meeting people from all over the world. I would like to become friends different cultural background. I want to share my culture with others. And I want to expose myself to diverse perspectives and improve myself. Beyond the during WWOOF, I we can find strong connection. In WWOOF there's no exchange of money, so I can enjoy and work it purely.

We're on 100 acres with mainly forest and a creek, located in Northern NSW, 14km from Mullumbimby. Bordering a national park. Truly on the edge of wilderness. With 3 established permaculture gardens/ food forests and a diverse and colourful community of sometimes 12 people. Five (5) main areas of work are: building with recycled materials, permaculture gardening, regen, general property maintenance, and crazy, dynamic art space projects. The raw nature of this place presents its own challenges and is not for the feint of heart! Our aim is to foster 'small community' whilst respecting the awesome natural beauty of this special place. Individuals, couples and families are welcome to inquire.

I grew up in one of the biggest towns of Germany far away from the country or sea side. And I want to change that now. I want to try a new lifestyle, not just travel but learn the culture from people who have lived here and show more, that just the usual tourist things.

To stay with like-minded locals in Australia and do our required work for second year working holiday visa. We heard WWOOF is a good program and wish to find our path from here as well.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
