After our college graduation, both Rachel and I found ourselves working corporate jobs that were unfulfilling spiritually. Both of our mothers have worked as flight attendants, and Rachel and I early on developed a taste for travel and the opportunities it brings. During COVID, when I heard about WWOOFing on a podcast, I recognized it was my way to travel in a way that would not only be affordable, but would give me opportunities to learn vital life skills and experience authentic relationships in the places I visit. Rachel is a former D1 athlete, and I myself am training to hike the Appalachian Trail, and both of us recognized our good physical health opened up a new realm of possibility for travel. We hope to connect our mind, body, and soul, and see if we can exist in a slower-paced life keen on connecting us with what we really care about. Our lifestyles are as healthy as we can manage them, and we hope through WWOOFing, we're able to find hosts that could help us cultivate our farm skills and teach us a little bit more about this wonderful continent you call home. Please, message us, as we'd love to be in touch with you.

During COVID we moved from Sydney to Tasmania, and purchased a small (5 acre) flower farm.  The farm was part of a deceased estate and is very run down.  We were trying to get things up and running again, but unfortunately poor health requires us to move on.  We are in the process of wrapping things up for sale.  We have green houses that need to be disassembled and sold.  In September, we have flower bulbs that need to be dug out and sold.  The previous owners left a lot of rubbish that needs to be recycled or taken to the tip.  The work would predominantly be gardening and maintenance (mowing, weeding, pruning), and during the right season, packing up and sales.  We are in a rural area surrounded by farms, but there is wildlife in the area to enjoy.  We love watching the platypus in the dam, and the bandicoots, water hens, wallabies, and possums around the property.  During your time off, you can enjoy hiking at Cradle Mountain (approx. 1.5hr drive), Gunns Plains Caves, Lillico Beach Penguins, and Leven Canyon (approx. 30 min drive).  Only applicants with travel insurance will be considered, as we are not operating a business.

I've wanted to join wwoof since I was a teenager as a way to explore the world, learn and meet new people. Now I feel like I'm in a place to do that securely. Working in rural Australia over the last 7 months has shown me a little bit of what is out there and how people can live. Working at the royal mail hotel in Dunkeld, there are so many people that come and go in 3 months stints it's eye-watering. These amazing people living their lives and experiencing. I want that. I hope Wwoof can provide that

We love discovering local cultures and customs and think that WWOOFING is a good way to discover them. We are sociable and like to share anecdotes. We also hope that this experience can help us improve our English.

The reason why I wanted to participate in WWOOF is not only a small country like Japan, but also a lot of communication with more countries and people, the environment I have grown up in and people in different languages, get along well, improve my language skills, realize the size of the world, talk a lot, and be friends.

We have a 30 acre hobby farm 20kms from Batemans Bay which is on the east coast of NSW. We are both very active retirees. Darrell was a master builder and Blacksmith / Farrier. Thus his skills are being put to good use in our long term project of building a stone home which is very unique and 2/3 complete. Lisa was a former NSW Police Officer and in her spare time makes lead light windows for the home and manages the gardens. Darrell is also a 7th dan black belt in Goshin Rye Karate and runs a dojo in Batemans Bay, training each Monday and Wednesday night. In our spare time we breed & train 'Friesian & Warlander' horses. We both teach Horseback Archery & Skill at Arms and involved in the Medieval world often travelling and performing in Medieval Faires. Our pet are inclusive of 7 horses, 2 German shepherd dogs, 2 birds, 7 chickens and goldfish.

To learn about how we can produce food in sustainable and healthy ways, to gain practical experience in working on a farm, to meet interesting people, and to give myself (and mainly my legs) a bit of a break from cycling.

Never been I ever to Australia before. I wanna learn more about the country, the people and the culture. Helping people on their own missions in exchange for food and accommodation sounds like a perfect match to me.

I came to Australia to travel and experience the East Coast but feel I have been more of a tourist than actually getting to know Australians, the lifestyle and learning more about its wildlife . I have been looking to find a place to volunteer to be able to help out, learn new skills and meet new people when I came across WWOOF . Which I feel has many exciting volunteering opportunities to offer.

Hi! My  property is situated  in Glen Huon, in the beautiful Huon Valley, on one acre of land. I am an artist and currently building a new studio. My home is a cottage and very comfortable and warm. With a wood fire and bath tub. I have a comfortable spare  bedroom room with a queen bed and warm & cozy bedding. I have a large vegetable garden,  chickens and ducks and cook most meals with vegetables from our garden. I am also a bee keeper and currently have 3 bee hives. I love to cook and used to be a chef so you would be very well fed during your stay! I have 2 cats that are shy with people they don’t know. There is wifi available. Closest public transport is at Huonville, approximately 8 minutes drive. I am happy to assist with transport if you don’t have a car.
