I joined WWOOF so that I can meet amazing people (and animals!) and contribute positively to others' lives while also having a fulfilling experience myself. I love animals and spending time in nature and would love to WOOF on a farm/lifestyle property which has horses and other animals around.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I joined WWOOF because I’m looking for meaningful, hands-on experiences during my time in Australia. I want to connect with locals, learn new skills, and be part of a community while giving back through hard work. Coming from a scientific background, I’m eager to step away from the lab and experience a more grounded, nature-based way of living. I’ve always loved learning about different lifestyles and cultures, and WWOOFing feels like a great way to do that while also contributing. I hope to gain practical skills, especially in farming, sustainability, or animal care, and to meet kind, open-minded people along the way. I’m excited to help where I’m needed, share stories, and create memorable connections. More than just traveling, I want this time to be enriching and purposeful, for both me and the people I meet.

I wanted to try WWOOFing a few years ago, but it didn’t work out at the time. I eventually forgot about the website, but during a recent visit to a small farm, the owners reminded me of it. Since I enjoy being in nature and helping people, I thought I’d give it another go.

We’re so keen to learn about organic and sustainable farming practices, ones that help to maintain the environment rather than destroy it, appreciating how important these practices are in an increasingly unsustainable food system. As a nutritionist, Eleanor strongly believes that what you eat has the biggest impact on your health. She’s an advocate for eating high quality, local and sustainably sourced food. More generally speaking, we’re excited to meet like-minded people, learning from their experiences, broadening our own horizons and acquiring new life skills. At the same time, we hope that our own skills and experiences can add value to the lives of our hosts and the people that we will meet. Joe loves to cook and is excited to help out in the kitchen, using amazing ingredients grown in beautiful places.

Pesticide free Blueberry and Waratah farm in the picturesque Yarra Valley. Around 80km east of Melbourne - just follow the Yarra River to our farm. A compact but beautiful farm, you will feel at ease as soon as you arrive. We have endless jobs and would welcome a helping hand to get us through this very productive blueberry season. If you fancy a stint on a blueberry farm, please contact me.  Picking is in the mornings, followed by packing and delivery. It is all weather dependent.

I am highly motivated to engage in WWOOFing as I am eager to discover new farming techniques, and immerse myself in different cultures and ways of living. I believe this experience will broaden my horizons and allow me to grow both personally and professionally. I also have prior experience living in potato farm in Tasmania for 3 months

I chose Woofing for the human experience. The concept is brilliant: meeting real locals and being able to help them in exchange for hospitality and friendly moments.

I am interested in learning about permaculture, animal husbandry, especially sheep and goats, regenerative agriculture, how to run and operate a small farm, harvesting wool, and much more! I would like to own my own farm one day, combining rehabilitative services and occupational therapy with outdoor garden/animal skills...the vision is an outdoor healing space for people who have experienced traumatic injuries. I am WWOOFing to learm how others have linked sustainable practices and community.

Because woofing makes it easier to find a job 😀 and I've heard a lot of good things about the community and I'm now looking forward to experiencing it myself.

After I stopped working as a teacher, I spent 1 year travelling around my country and being a volunteer in some natural/ permaculture farms. I got myself healed and connected to the people and things in those environments. Then I got a chance to have a working holiday visa and I set out for a farther journey here. I have been in Australia for nearly 1 year. For this 1 year I have worked as a picker/ packer at farms in NSW and QLD in order to make enough money for my journey. It was such an experience and I have learnt a lot about life lessons by living and working with so many other backpackers. I really appreciate that. However, business farms and massive food production are never a suitable environment for me. I always seek for a natural and self sufficient lifestyle and want to learn more about how to build it on my own. That's why I registered for being a wwoofer. I don't mind hard work and will do my best to help out at your farm. It would be good if the place is well organised, quiet and harmonious because those are the values I cherish as well. Currently I am in Townsville, Queensland. I have a plan travelling up north from here. I am looking for a permacultural farm in north Queensland to be a wwoofer. Thank you for considering and having me as your wwoofer.

Presently I feel the deep intention to connect with the Australian culture and meet all kind of people. Also, as I love nature and animals and I am happy to work outside, it came to me as an evidence that it was time to experiment the beautiful woofing 🙂 To share,

We decided to join WWOOF because we wanted to experience life on a farm, learn more about organic farming, and connect with new people. It’s a great opportunity to improve our English and contribute while traveling.
