Skills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Biodynamics practices and techniques
I've wanted to join wwoof since I was a teenager as a way to explore the world, learn and meet new people. Now I feel like I'm in a place to do that securely. Working in rural Australia over the last 7 months has shown me a little bit of what is out there and how people can live. Working at the royal mail hotel in Dunkeld, there are so many people that come and go in 3 months stints it's eye-watering. These amazing people living their lives and experiencing. I want that. I hope Wwoof can provide that

The reason why I wanted to participate in WWOOF is not only a small country like Japan, but also a lot of communication with more countries and people, the environment I have grown up in and people in different languages, get along well, improve my language skills, realize the size of the world, talk a lot, and be friends.

I joined WWOOF because I want to experience the australian farming lifestyle. Besides I love animals and the australian couuntryside. Another reason is that I want to save some money before I go to a New Zealand roadtrip.

I joined WWOOF because I want to learn organic and biodynamic viticulture and winemaking and I’m still now working at organic vineyard/winery in Japan. The allure of sustainable, environmentally conscious practices has always captivated me, and WWOOF provides a unique avenue to turn this passion into firsthand experience. I am driven by a curiosity to understand the intricacies of cultivating vines and making wines in harmony with nature.

We have a 30 acre hobby farm 20kms from Batemans Bay which is on the east coast of NSW. We are both very active retirees. Darrell was a master builder and Blacksmith / Farrier. Thus his skills are being put to good use in our long term project of building a stone home which is very unique and 2/3 complete. Lisa was a former NSW Police Officer and in her spare time makes lead light windows for the home and manages the gardens. Darrell is also a 7th dan black belt in Goshin Rye Karate and runs a dojo in Batemans Bay, training each Monday and Wednesday night. In our spare time we breed & train 'Friesian & Warlander' horses. We both teach Horseback Archery & Skill at Arms and involved in the Medieval world often travelling and performing in Medieval Faires. Our pet are inclusive of 7 horses, 2 German shepherd dogs, 2 birds, 7 chickens and goldfish.

To learn about how we can produce food in sustainable and healthy ways, to gain practical experience in working on a farm, to meet interesting people, and to give myself (and mainly my legs) a bit of a break from cycling.

Never been I ever to Australia before. I wanna learn more about the country, the people and the culture. Helping people on their own missions in exchange for food and accommodation sounds like a perfect match to me.

I came to Australia to travel and experience the East Coast but feel I have been more of a tourist than actually getting to know Australians, the lifestyle and learning more about its wildlife . I have been looking to find a place to volunteer to be able to help out, learn new skills and meet new people when I came across WWOOF . Which I feel has many exciting volunteering opportunities to offer.

I joined WWOOF because I’d like to spend more time outside, working with my hands, meeting new and like minded people and learning new skills. I’d also like to explore Australia in a unique way, rather than just visiting the tourist sites.

Hi! My  property is situated  in Glen Huon, in the beautiful Huon Valley, on one acre of land. I am an artist and currently building a new studio. My home is a cottage and very comfortable and warm. With a wood fire and bath tub. I have a comfortable spare  bedroom room with a queen bed and warm & cozy bedding. I have a large vegetable garden,  chickens and ducks and cook most meals with vegetables from our garden. I am also a bee keeper and currently have 3 bee hives. I love to cook and used to be a chef so you would be very well fed during your stay! I have 2 cats that are shy with people they don’t know. There is wifi available. Closest public transport is at Huonville, approximately 8 minutes drive. I am happy to assist with transport if you don’t have a car.
