Our family of four lives on 20 beautiful acres near Crescent Head, NSW. It's our hobby farm and we're constantly working on projects in the gardens, paddocks, orchard and bush block endeavoring to be self sufficient and head towards being completely off grid. We're 8mins from the great waves at Crescent Head and 15mins from Kempsey. We are surrounded by nature, bounded by national park on one side and a huge tract of bushland on the other, and are encouraging wildlife back and through our beautiful patch of land.

We are based on a Quiet and peaceful 30 Arce Property in Central Victoria that is an area inhabited by lots of different species of Birds and Animals. We have established an organic orchard and multiple Inground garden beds as well as using techniques such as wicking beds etc. to grow produce. We also have Bee hives which form part of the all inclusive environment we are creating. In the Netted orchard we have a big range of Fruit and nut trees and also have a variety of Citrus trees planted in a separate section outside of the orchard. We are currently in the process of scaling out the gardens to include greenhouse tunnels and larger garden beds to become fully self sufficient and grow alongside our non for profit business. Our non for profit business has been set up to support our like-minded community we are building and also to assist in funding our other planned community projects including future bush schooling center's and Holistic Health and Wellness center's. Our family live a holistic lifestyle and are spiritually inclined (Currently Reiki Trained). At the property live Family of 5 (2 Adults, 3 Kids (7,5,3) +1 (Golden Retriever)) as well as my wife's parents x 2. All volunteers will have accommodation in a self-sufficient apartment located not far from the main house and will also be fully included in our family during their stay.

After participating in domestic WWOOF, I felt good about it, so I tried overseas WWOOF. I participated to learn about Australia's unique agricultural characteristics and to engage in cultural exchange.

I also enjoy House Sitting. This avenue has lead me to attain many new strengths and abilities. From eco homes to tiny houses, cottages to hobby farms. I have had over a dozen successful Sits around Australia. And in Spring of last year, I returned from being abroad. I was residing on a small tourist island in Thailand for over 4 years. There I experienced an array of unique opportunities. I was a caretaker in a jungle Guesthouse, I managed a small Resort, and even assisted in the opening of a seaside Bar. Every place having always had a variety of loving animal friends for me to care for and to keep company.
My intellect and personal skill-set has grown immensely throughout these experiences. I am incredibly grateful for this phase of my life with such freedom to roam. It'll be remembered forever.

I’m hoping to experience a few different parts of the east coast. I am trying to identify a few areas that I can see myself living longer term and what better way to do that then try living somewhere!

I want to do some soul searching, meet more people and rekindle my love of the outdoors this year. I'd also love to familiarise myself with how to lead a sustainable life and the skills that can help me achieve that. I hope to have a garden of my own in the future and teach others about what I'd be learning. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone along with learning and trying new things is important to me so I feel like WWOOFing would be a great way to help with that while pursuing my Aussie travel dreams!

We joined WWOOF to explore Australia, experience farm life, and connect with local hosts. Our main focus is not to complete the 88 days for a visa extension but to find opportunities where we can work hard, earn money and receive accommodation in return. We’re motivated, reliable, and eager to support hosts with their daily tasks while learning new skills and enjoying the unique lifestyle that comes with it.

Day's Walk Farm is located just 22km from the Melbourne CBD and a short trip from Melbourne International Airport - it is a real Certified Organic suburban farm - though it's tucked away in a quieter part of the valley, where a cool river runs lined with red gums. I grow mixed vegetables organically and I am also part of a team that grows young farmers - see farmerincubator.org I have been at this farm since March 2015 and farming is one step at a time - a lot of work! So I could do with a hand. This is a great place for someone who enjoys working outside and cooking with a range of fresh farm produce. Work includes planting seedlings, weeding, whipper snipping, propagating, picking, some building projects and market garden work. We're a commercial farm. Accommodation is quite basic on the farm, in an old shed converted into an apartment or a cosy caravan. We use a bush bucket shower and compost toilet. The bus stop is a short walk up the hill, and using the bus and the train you can connect with Melbourne independently on your days off. The internet is accessible via hotspot for emails, for big downloads though you will have to stroll down to one of the two local libraries. (We can't get broadband internet here in the valley, yet...) I ask volunteers to work five days, taking two off. Work stops at lunch time, so the afternoons are free. However, there are also lots of books to read during your down-time, under the trees by the river. We recently bought a few board games too and we're currently installing a shed cinema and ceiling suspended day bed. I regularly get on the mat to do some yoga. Market garden work is quite physical so these activities help to balance life here. Shared meals and cooking using fresh produce from the market garden, mixed diet. No children. No smoking inside. Initial stay 2 weeks, longer stays negotiable. Cannot take WWOOFers in the middle of winter. If you aspire to be a farmer then this is good place to check out. Note that we run internships too, for those seeking a structured learning experience for a longer period of time. Find more information on our website: dayswalkfarm.com.au Staying at Day's Walk Farm is certainly an adventure, not a picnic! Thanks ! ! ! I decided to join the WWOOF program in order to live a unique experience in a country I plan to visit soon. The idea of exchange and sharing resonates deeply with my personal values. My desire is to discover alternative lifestyles in the company of authentic people, close to nature and animals, and who attach great importance to ecology. Being immersed in an Australian family represents for me a precious opportunity to live an authentic and enriching experience. It will enable me to explore different lifestyles, traditions and values, while immersing myself in daily customs, sharing meals and taking part in local activities. This experience would also be a great opportunity to improve my English, while acquiring new skills in various fields such as gardening and animal care. I have a particular interest in working with plants, their use and the benefits they can offer. I'm open to learning anything that will help me broaden my horizons, develop new skills and better understand the world around me.

Help us to help others. I have a functional neurological disorder that impacts on my daily life with movement, day to day living, speech sometimes, chronic fatigue. Wanting to start a support group for others that are similar. We would like to set up a food forest and sensory garden right here on Russell Island. WWOOFers help us to maintain the property and to build and maintain fruit trees, raised garden beds, hugelkultur garden, lasagna-method garden beds for a wide range of fruit and vegetables grown in an organic way. Wayne and I are an outgoing couple that like to meet new people and learn from all cultures. We are both chefs by trade but have moved onto the island for a quiet sense of life. We both like to get into arts and crafts. We are both originally from New Zealand and have been living in Australia for ten years. Graeme likes to go fishing and all things outdoors even though he's got this disability, he doesn't let that limit his life. Wayne likes to get into music and he's more the indoor type. We're pretty easy going people and like to learn new things. At the moment we're building our house that isais nearly completed. living in a tiny home at the back. We don't mind couples Building experience and gardening experience is preferable but not exactly needed. You must be friendly, outgoing, willing to work five hours a morning in exchange for room and board. Please let us know if there is anything you'd like to know about our little island.
