I want to join Woof because I'm coming to Australia in a few months and I'd like to be able to do some voluntary work to discover a new way of life on a farm. I hope to learn new skills and be able to help the people who will welcome me. I love nature and animals. What's more, it's a great way to meet new people in Australia, to familiarize myself with the country.

I joined WWOOF for a few reasons. Firstly, I had an amazing experience working on a farm in Tasmania for two months, and it really sparked my passion for farm work. Secondly, with only two months left on my working holiday visa, I wanted to spend that time living and volunteering in a place I've always dreamed of visiting. WWOOF seemed like the perfect way to combine those two desires. Additionally, I'm very interested in learning more about organic vegetables, their cultivation, and the philosophies of farmers who prioritize sustainable practices. I also hope to broaden my perspective and learn from the lifestyle and values of my host family.

Ayr farm is set in a picturesque part of the Hunter Valley bordered by the Hunter River, which feels rural but is close to both small communities and larger hubs.  In addition to sheep and beef cattle I have a small dairy herd of 8 jersey cows, milking once a day.  I also have chickens, working dogs and a small market garden which includes a greenhouse, glasshouse and seed-raising area.

I grew up with hippy parents and spent a lot of time outdoors and in creative and alternative communities. It's definitely something I feel I've missed as a city-dwelling adult. I came to Australia both to visit friends and explore and WWOOFing seems like an incredible way to make new friends and learn more about the land. I am definitely more of a slow-paced wanderer than a tourist hitting the checklist of sights so I am hoping WWOOFing will give me the chance to get to know hosts, their land and their area in a more familiar way.

I joined WWOOF because I really like working on farms. I love nature, animals and plants and have even planted some vegetables myself in Germany in my families garden. I also see smaller, organic farms as an important part of bettering the health of our planet. I hope to meet nice people, help working on a farm and to learn more about life and work on a farm. And also of course I want to experiene the aussie lifestyle!

I decided to join WWOOF because I was looking for a meaningful way to combine travel, learning, and hands-on experience. I love being outdoors, staying active, and working with animals, so the idea of helping out on a farm and being in the nature draws my attention. During my travels, I’ve met people who shared their positive experiences with WWOOFing, and after reading more about it, I knew it was something I wanted to do. It’s a great opportunity to gain new skills and connect with local communities. I also enjoy working with people, being part of a team, and contributing to something bigger than myself. WWOOFing allows me to do.

I joined WWOOF because I am eager to gain hands-on experience in sustainable living and farming practices. Learning about how people work closely with nature and live more sustainably is something I’m truly passionate about. WWOOFing also offers an incredible opportunity to connect with local people, learn about their cultures, and share meaningful experiences, which is probably the biggest motivation for me. Through WWOOF, I hope to expand my skills, meet inspiring hosts and volunteers, and contribute positively to the daily life on a farm. Even if it wont be easy, Im excited to step out of my comfort zone, explore new environments, and make a real difference while learning valuable lessons along the way.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
