I joined WWOOF because I truly believe this is the kind of experience I need right now. I want to disconnect from the fast pace of everyday life, learn new skills, connect with nature, and discover a different way of living. To me WWOOF offers exactly this kind of experience.

We live on the beautiful south coast of NSW, close to quiet beaches and surrounded by forest. We have been growing veg for local families for 20 years and have trained and mentored many small business owners in mixed market gardening. We enjoy life, flavour and nature. We have hosted many foreign and Australian helpers over the years and enjoy the cultural exchange. Kirsti and I have travelled to many countries over the years but now we have a farm we can't go so often so we enjoy hearing your stories of travel. On our farm there are 2 rooms for WWOOFer accommodation. They are separate from our house and clean and comfortable. We share lunch and dineer and you can make your own breakfast in the packing shed which has a stove and a fridge. There are dams for swimming in and bush trails for walking nearby. We don't ask you to help on weekends so the beach is a good option.

I am eager to immerse myself in the Australian way of life and learn from local farmers and families. I believe that WWOOFing is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, exchange stories and traditions, and enjoy delicious meals together. I can’t wait to meet new friends, gain valuable skills, and create unforgettable memories during my time as a WWOOFer!

Maeve Gardens, a subtropical paradise in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. Blessed with 10 acres of land we farm using purmaculture techniques. One of our goals is to set up a small scale ginger and garlic farm. We love food and are excited to grow ginger and garlic organically. My wife Moira and I live a simple life in Maeve and spend our time making good food, doing yoga and writing (when we're not weeding). We are a creative family and have had a career in the circus in the UK for most of our lives before moving back to Australia 8 years ago. We are motivated and happy people to be around so if you want to help us with our vision  please reach out.❤️🌱🪱

I want to learn more about organic farming as I intend to shortly buy my own property and apply what I learn from WWOOF to my farm, in particular how we can apply technology to improve the farm processes. I have an understanding of the theory of animal husbundary and growing food, but want to improve that by learning from experienced people so that I can hit the ground running when I do decide that the time is right for me to start my own property.

I’d love to join WWOOF in Australia because I enjoy working outdoors and want to give something back to nature and the community, especially after the recent floods. For me, farm work isn’t just about the daily jobs – it’s also a chance to learn more about sustainable living, the land, and the people who care for it. Growing up in the Austrian countryside, I’ve always felt at home in nature. I like being active, working with my hands, and spending time outside, whether in the mountains or by the beach. At the same time, I’m aiming to complete the 88 days of regional work to extend my visa. I see this as a great opportunity to pick up new skills, meet new people, and make a positive contribution while gaining valuable experience along the way.

We own a 90 acre Certified Organic property, 2 kms from the Murray River and 5 kms from Waikerie. We grow a small vegetable/fruit garden. We breed goats, some chickens and a little dog, Gemma. Chores vary seasonally: picking, weeding, feeding animals, restoring cars & old tractors. Accomodation either in our home or self contained flat. Children b.a. Meals with family, plenty of good food. We take our WWOOFers on a nocturnal safari to see kangaroos, emus, foxes, rabbits, owls & quail. See scorpions, Red-back spiders & lizards, etc. Also kayaking on the river. Star gazing, ride the quad motorbike, drive the tractor, go fishing, swimming or play pool. No smoking inside. Daily bus service from Adelaide & interstate to Waikerie. Here is a story written by a wonderful French WWOOFer Lény Gourven who visited us in 2013, we still keep in touch! WWOOFers Shay and Dean visited and made a video series about their WWOOFing journey around Australia. Here is the episode on our farm 🙂

I would like to join Wwoofing to have a human and enriching experience, learn new practical skills and discover Australian culture in direct contact with locals. I like working outdoors, being useful and sharing friendly moments. Passionate about horses, I would particularly like to do my Wwoofing with them in order to combine learning, nature and animals. For me, it is a great opportunity to exchange, improve my English and get closer to a simpler and more environmentally friendly way of life.

Help us to help others. I have a functional neurological disorder that impacts on my daily life with movement, day to day living, speech sometimes, chronic fatigue. Wanting to start a support group for others that are similar. We would like to set up a food forest and sensory garden right here on Russell Island. WWOOFers help us to maintain the property and to build and maintain fruit trees, raised garden beds, hugelkultur garden, lasagna-method garden beds for a wide range of fruit and vegetables grown in an organic way. Wayne and I are an outgoing couple that like to meet new people and learn from all cultures. We are both chefs by trade but have moved onto the island for a quiet sense of life. We both like to get into arts and crafts. We are both originally from New Zealand and have been living in Australia for ten years. Graeme likes to go fishing and all things outdoors even though he's got this disability, he doesn't let that limit his life. Wayne likes to get into music and he's more the indoor type. We're pretty easy going people and like to learn new things. At the moment we're building our house that isais nearly completed. living in a tiny home at the back. We don't mind couples Building experience and gardening experience is preferable but not exactly needed. You must be friendly, outgoing, willing to work five hours a morning in exchange for room and board. Please let us know if there is anything you'd like to know about our little island.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
