Bolwarrah Gardens is situated at the southern tip of the Central Highlands of Victoria at 610m above sea level with rich volcanic soil, spring-fed dams and shelter from winds via tall pines. The property has 150 established olive trees, a chestnut and hazelnut grove, 12 apple varieties, as well as berries, plum, pear, cherry, apricot and fig trees over 5 hectares. The veggie patch and greenhouse grows organic vegetables enough for two families with plenty of preserved goods to use over the colder months. The ornamental gardens provide a biodiverse oasis with beautiful colour and form for year round interest as well as flowers for the bees and plenty of organic matter for making compost. Compost is also activated by a herd of guinea pigs which graze grass under the apple trees and eat vegetable clippings. We make our own wood chip to mulch trees and garden beds and keep worm farms for fertility. We make our own bread and exchange for eggs and goat's milk made on neighboring farms.

We’re traveling to Australia while taking a winter break from our own organic farm in Sweden. We want to combine meaningful work with the joy of exploring your country and connecting with nature. Through WWOOF, we hope to meet like-minded people who share our values around sustainable living and organic farming. We’re excited to exchange knowledge, learn new skills, and experience Australian farm life. We’re also seeking inspiration for opening our own ecotourism project and welcoming future WWOOFers to our farm.

Come to Kongwak, the 'Valley of Peace', where over the last 20 years I have created a thriving permaculture garden on less than 2 acres, which provides our family and local community with fresh, organic produce and plants. I have also set up a small nursery In our little town, where we propagate and sell a range of native, indigenous, permaculture and edible plants and produce. The nursery is based at the popular Kongwak Market, where I have also established a community garden called the Secret Garden, where I run regular workshops about permaculture, composting, medicinal plants etc. Kongwak is a beautiful little village in the heart of South Gippsland, only 15mins from Korumburra, Wonthaggi, Inverloch and lovely beaches. We are about half an hour to Phiilip Island and one & a half hours to the magnificent Wilson's Promontory. We can provide accommodation to singles, couples or small groups of friends. We currently have a small dog & some chickens. Short and long term stays welcome!

I joined WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) to immerse myself in new cultures and gain hands-on experience in sustainable farming. As an adventurous traveler, I wanted to explore different parts of the world while connecting with local communities. WWOOFing allows me to learn valuable skills in gardening and organic farming, all while enjoying the beauty of nature. I appreciate the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and make lasting friendships along the way. Additionally, the affordable travel aspect of WWOOFing enables me to explore new destinations while keeping costs low.

My boyfriend and I are on a working holiday visa, looking to work and live in Australia for a while. WWOOFING seemed to be the perfect opportunity for us to settle in, meet some people and get to know the environment that we would eventually like to do paid work in. We have plenty of energy to give back in return! We are very enthousiast about engaging in biological and eco-farming in particular and any linked social activities.

We are situated in the Keysbrook hills (Binjareb Noongar country), about 1 hour south of Perth, Western Australia. We have a small holding of 7 acres with a winter creek, open pasture, orchard, and a bush area that connects to the adjacent forest where the Munda Biddi cycle trail runs past the property. For swimming, the nearby North Dandalup Dam is perfect for a refreshing dip at the end of a hot day in summer & for picnics throughout the year.

We're a small family living on a 3-acre homestead property on the rural NW coast of Tasmania. We produce a portion of our own food throughout the year from our orchard, berry patch, hothouse, vegetable garden and chickens. Our property can offer a good general exposure to a wide variety of regenerative, sustainable and resilient practices. We welcome short and long stays.

In 2026, we are planning to use our LSL and take our family on the road around Australia. A big part of this trip will be education for our kids (who will be aged 5-11 in 2026). We think working on different types of farms will be a great, practical, hands-on way to learn a lot about our food and our country, and connect in with the local community. We also think it will be a great opportunity for them (and us) to develop confidence and skills that city kids don't often get much of a chance at. In addition, we're really interested in sustainable farming practices like regenerative agriculture.

I enjoy being outdoors and want to learn more about it and how nature works - especially in Australia, where so much is new for me. That's why I want to try WOOFing. I'm also interested in cultural exchange. Although I grew up on a farm with cows, my knowledge about is rather basic. I'm really looking forward to expanding my knowledge of nature and farming.

I was looking for an opportunity to travel to Australia for months when a friend of mine recommended the website. The concept sounded amazing to me so I am very excited to try it out. I love spending time outside, with animals or children and especially, since I am traveling solo I would love to meet many new people and make some friends along the way.

I would like to join WWOOF in Australia because I am very interested in learning about Australian agriculture and sustainable farming practices. I believe that by working directly on farms, I can gain hands-on experience and deepen my understanding of the land, crops, and lifestyle in rural Australia. Another reason is that I would like to stay in Australia for a longer period of time and travel around different regions. WWOOF offers a unique opportunity to explore many areas while being part of local communities, rather than just being a tourist. Finally, I am eager to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures. I believe cultural exchange is one of the most valuable experiences in life, and I would love to share my own culture while learning from hosts and fellow WWOOFers. I am excited to contribute, learn, and grow through this program.

I am not intending to be a full time commercial farmer in the near future, as I enjoy my current profession. However, I do want to be able to grow my own food, as well as make a bit of secondary income. While in Australia, it is difficult to progress my professional career much because of Visa restrictions, but doing WWOOF will definitely help me learn skills and gain experience for secondary life goals.

8 acres of native regeneration, organic orchard and Garden. We are on the Banks of the Mongarlowe River where we are nurturing beautiful unimproved native pastures, gardens and an old orchard. We were impacted by the 2019/20 Black Sumer Fires and we working hard to manage weeds and the massive regowth that's occured over the last few years. We are close to the Monga National Park.  An ancient Gondwana remanent forest type and the source of the Mongarlowe River, one of the cleanest rivers in NSW it flows parallel to the escarpment for 40kms before turning inland. This small parcel of land, was cleared agricultural land over 50 years ago, when it subdivided off a large property to build a trout farm that never worked. Patrick purchased this property in 1979, and it’s been slowly regenerating ever since. Over the last 10 to 15 years, it’s reached a point in its regeneration where we are now gardening by subtraction.  There has been so much regrowth that we are in a process of removing and planting vegetation develop this site. We have a large food garden, primarily for personal use.    When fully operational we will sell excess produce, seedlings and seeds at the local markets. We are 17 km from the nearest town - we can provide some transport to and from town where needed.   Woofers with a manual drivers licence or a car of their own would be ideal.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
