I joined WWOOF because I want to try new things. I've always wanted to visit Australia but never had the chance to go before. I'm currently studying agriculture at university and have a strong interest in farming and organic practices. Since I love fruits, vegetables, and animals, I thought WWOOF would be a perfect fit for me. Additionally, I want to improve my English skills by communicating with native speakers.

Preferred name is Bhodi. Moving back to the Northern Rivers in early 2026. I see WWOOFing as a stepping stone to a more permanent place in the area. I also would like to have a break from my current career and spend more time outdoors. Hoping to have stalls at markets on the weekends with my art prints etc. when I come back to the Northern Rivers. Notice more and more how happy I am outdoors gardening, doing Landcare or enjoying the great outdoors.

We’d love to experience life beyond the usual travel route, to get to know the land, the people, and the daily rhythms of farm life. We’re excited to learn more about organic farming, sustainable living, and practical skills, while also sharing our own skills and stories. Most of all, we look forward to making new connections, learning from you, and contributing to daily life on your farm.

Thousand year old pines, sandalwoods and acacia trees nestle on the rare sandhills that are culturally significant and a living historic museum. 100 acres of bush where kangaroos and emus roam and the wild animals keep company. We are 800 metres from the Murray River and 20 min from Echuca. Citrus orchard, revegetation works, distilling essential oils and art are all part of our daily life. We need a hand to keep this sacred place alive. Peace, birdsong and adventure are here.

The property Glen Innes (8000 ha) was bought in 2000 at a time when the habitat type found here was being cleared at a rapid rate. Our goal is to conserve what little remains of a unique Queensland habitat. We work to restore the property to its former natural glory while also farming for our sustenance. Kerand Station (4,500 ha) and Glen Innes Station (a.k.a. ‘Bimblebox Nature Refuge') are 110km apart, near the townships of Alpha and Jericho in Central West Queensland. Both properties run cattle to cover costs, preserve remnant bushland (uncleared), and are home to native flora and fauna.  Some paid work could be available.

My goal is to improve my English through interacting with people and experiencing nature. My grandfather lives in the countryside of Japan and grows a variety of plants. I only get to see him a few times a year, but every time we meet I'm so happy to be able to take care of the plants together. I also have a dream of interacting with and taking care of animals that are not so familiar to me, such as sheep and goats. WWOOF. Through this, I hope to be able to communicate with people who live in different environments that I have never met before, help each other, and experience various things, such as taking care of animals and plants, which is my dream. Also, since I am not fluent in English, I would like to communicate a lot in English and improve my English skills. I would also like to talk a lot about traditional Japanese things.

I joined WWOOF Australia because I wanted to experience authentic farm life, learn new skills, and connect with locals while giving something back to the community. I enjoy working outdoors and getting my hands dirty – whether it’s in the garden, with animals, or helping with building and repair work. Another important reason I joined is that some WWOOF hosts offer work that qualifies for the Working Holiday Visa extension through bushfire or natural disaster recovery efforts. I’m keen to contribute in areas where help is needed and at the same time work toward extending my stay in this amazing country.

**2025 Spring is coming! Last Minute and Planned stays are both welcome if our values and experiences align** Our beautiful 10 acre property is located in stunning, lush South Gippsland - 1.5 hrs from Melbourne CBD and 15 minutes from magnificent Inverloch beaches. We have just taken over this property from lovely owners who have created a beautiful space. We are planting out our fruit orchard and preparing our vegie garden for summer, growing a huge variety of heirloom vegies and fruits. We are also setting up a small Australian wildflower garden for cut flowers and bouquets, along with traditional cut flowers. We follow organic and permaculture practices. An abundance of Australian wildlife resides on the property. Opportunities to stay at Shallock Burn are year round. 2025 Spring/Summer: preparing garden beds, collecting kindling, preserving produce, germinating seeds, painting fences, trimming trees etc - these is lots to do and we happily allocate a variety of tasks within various capabilities. We cater to all dietary requirements. We delight in the opportunity to share our knowledge, predominantly in growing produce.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
