I've always grown vegetables at home and have done plenty of volunteering at an indigenous nursery and weeding and replanting bush rehabilitation. sites. I'm hoping to move away from the suburbs and develop a bigger productive garden. I'd like to learn more about organic and permaculture fruit and vegetable growing. I'm also interested in mushroom production and regenerative farming practices.

I love working outdoors, and I have always wanted to visit Australia. WWOOFing seems like a great experience, and I would love to find an opportunity to work with Australian animals.

I'm looking to spend the next year travelling and working. I have a passion for gardening and sustainable practices. That's why I chose to join WWOOF. I have met people before growing up who were backpacking around Australia and always spoke fondly of their experiences. I want to work for farms who I know are following organic practices. Hoping to meet some new people and have fun working together.

I'm passionate about sustainable living and organic farming and would like to pick up new skills and experience to share with my family, friends and students back in Singapore. WWOOFing allows me to combine my interests in meeting new people, travel and farming/gardening all at once.

Joining WWOOF on my working holiday visa to hopefully have a landing spot where I can contribute for a few months while figuring out more long term circumstances (getting an Australian Tax Number followed by finding paid Bushfire restoration work, then finding housing) so that I can support my stay and qualify for a second working holiday visa.

A great way to learn and give back while travelling around Australia plus we love it! I hope to better my knowledge of plants, and learn how to grow fresh produce, and for Caleb spending his day on a farm or in a garden is his absolute dream.

I grew up on a farm in BC, Canada and would like my son to get some farming experience. We live in capital cities and spend as much time as possible hiking and trekking but have not had the opportunity to get some farm life and work experience. My son is passionate about animals and is super helpful when given clear directions. I know how well one sleeps after a long day of physical work outdoors and want my son to experience this. I what him to step back from a meaningful job and know "I helped make that happen". He has chores at home but they are limited in scope as we live in a condo in the city. I think this will be an exciting and rewarding way to explore the people and places of Australia.

I'm currently taking a year off from my studies of Conservation Biology. I really want to use this year to learn new skills and deepen my understanding of the land and natural processes to understand how we can work with nature rather than against it. I'm very excited to learn these new skills, make connections and help out in any way with the fantastic work you do.

I joined WWOOF because I want to experience life in Tasmania. There are many important life skills around sustainable farming that I believe I can learn while WWOOFing in Tasmania. I have long held a particular fascination with the unique ecology of the Tasmanian island. It would be a great pleasure that while I work and learn about how people sustainably harvest food in Tasmania, I could also experience the iconic flora and fauna of this region. I hope that I can also make some contribution to the hosts I maybe stationed with in any endeavors to promote ecosystem diversity around their property.

I wanted to join WWOOF because as I said, my goal is to learn about the most cultures and habits I can, around the world. And what is better than directly learn in a farm, living with the host 🙂 ! I also always wanted to go in Australia, I want to learn about the way to live in Australia in particular in a farm, I want to become helpful, meet new people, and also improve my English. Thank you 🙂 lora Valancogne

My family has a farm in the other district that my aunt is organizing right now she runs almost everything on the farm manually so we have shoots, bamboos, organic vegetable farming, and some fish pond in it and there is huge farmland that we haven't do anything about it yet. I want to learn and experience more about how to develop those farming systems when I inherited the farm after I graduated, so I can run and organize it the best way in the future with the knowledge that I have gained. It will be a good start for me to actually work on a farm and see how can I exchange that knowledge from the other country while I apply to this program.

One reason I would love this experience is that I wish I could discover the daily life of habitants in total immersion, and improve my English as much as possible. In order to do so, I am looking for a room in a host family. In return, I am committed to be available to feed animals, to clean their box or to make gardening, babysitting or cooking, do shopping etc. I love manuels labor and take care of animals (I have 2goats, 1horse 1rabbit and 2 cats in my parent's house). I have done a lot of gargening work in my life so hard work does not bother me. I do love nature and like to work in the wild to open my mind and find peace!

I heard about WWOOF through my brother in law. He is a doctor and went straight from studies till working. One day about five years ago the two of us went out fishing in the saltstream. He was talking about the rush and rythm of everyday living. How if he could start over he would work more with his hands before choosing a profession. It was stange to hear, cause as a doctor you would think he really made it in life. In a way he has, but knowing him to always speak the truth, it really stuck with me. So three years ago I tried WWOOFing, two weeks on a farm in the french alps. It was just an incredible experience! Those two weeks changed my outlook on life and what I want to do with my time. So now, three years after my first taste of WWOOFing I have decided to reconnect with nature and follow this old dream. There is no better country do that than right here in Australia.

I had a friend whose mum used to be a host, and explained how wonderful it was, and how interesting it is to see the different ways others live, and learn from each other.
