Skills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Biodynamics practices and techniques
I am a person who loves nature. Throughout my childhood, I spent my time at my grandparents' house. My grandparents were Chinese farmers who had their own crops, vegetable gardens, and raised some poultry. My childhood experiences have always made me yearn for rural life. I have been feeding cows, sheep, chickens, picking my own radishes, cabbage, scallions, and other vegetables. I really enjoy learning how to cultivate my own food and keep my own poultry It's the life that I've always longed for. After I grew up, I had to live in a city. Now, I have the opportunity to come to beautiful Australia and have the opportunity to live, travel, and learn. It's really great, so I hope to join the WWOOF organization to achieve my ideal life

My project is to travel around the world for 6 to 12 months this year, and Australia is one of the countries I want to discover, so what a better way to discover the people and the culture than volunteering and getting to meet locals!

Travelling is a great way to discover a country, but I'd like to meet some more locals and experience the country in another way. I think wwoofing will be a great way to do this, because I've always liked farm life, I like being outside and I'll be able to contribute to the community.

We joined WWOOF hoping to experience something completely different and new to us and our boys. Also thought it would provide a great sense of communtiy and a nice way to help our fellow Australian Farmers who work really hard at what they do.

I would like a character-building experience and to travel and live in another culture. I would also like to learn more about organic farming. I have an interest in plants and growing crops and would like to develop this further as well as maintaining my animal husbandry skills.

My biggest motivation for wwoofing is that I enjoy working outside and use my hands to do stuff. And Wwoofing combines this with getting to know a new environment and experience a different lifestyle than home. Right now I do have quite a lot of time on my hand, because I only start studying in fall 2023. So I try to fill my time with useful stuff, opposed to just hanging around at home all day. I choose Australia after England, because I have relatives who moved to Australia about five years ago and I haven´t really seen them since. So I want to combine wwoofing and visiting them. Lastly I can say, that the one month wwoofing stay I did in England and I absolutly loved it.

I hope to take this opportunity to travel around Australia during my studies, starting from places close to Melbourne to other parts of the country. I enjoy travelling and natural sceneries and working with animals, and so would love to travel to more remote parts with lots of wildlife and greenery. I also love meeting new people (and animals) and learning new handy tricks too!

Wwoof represents for me the opportunity to get to know a way of life far from my own and be fully immersed in an Australian home. I also enjoy every type of manual work and as I've spent most of my stay in Australia in Sydney, I want to see more of the countryside.

Coming from Freiburg, a city also known as the "green city", we have always been in close contact with the topic of sustainability and organic practices. Therefore we were very intrigued by the concept of WWOOF. Furthermore we have heard great stories from friends who worked on Farms in New Zeeland and Ireland using WWOOF. We are especially looking forward to meeting new people, getting to know the life on a farm and having the chance to spend a lot of time in nature and with animals.

We decided to join WWOOF for our upcoming travel to Australia (April-May 2023). We would like to get in touch with some locals to learn more about their life and life in Australia and perhaps learn something about organic and sustainable farming and sustainable living. Aside from that, we also want to extend our travel budget by working for board & lodging through WWOOF.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
