As I won't have a home anymore (selling the van) I'm looking for an alternative way to live for some time, which matches perfectly with me loving to try new things

I originally came on a work VISA to work with a friend but she got a job at a pearl farm and I did not. It has been a very slow moving process to find a job so I would rather spend my time learning skills and gaining experiences than trying to find a temporary job. I have always wondered about living more off-grid and maybe living the farm life. I am especially interested to learn about orchards or tree maintenance as I have always loved the idea of owning one. I hope to learn more practical skills as well as understand the lifestyle.

I am looking to learn from local people within the farming world while I am in Australia and learn more about organic farming from hosts. I am part of organic farming communities in England and have always wanted to experience living and working more closely with the land. I am passionate about humans, amimals and the earth and belive that organic farming is a solution to alot of the problems we currently have in the world from poor mental health to not enough healthy food available at affordable cost. Learning how to grow vegetables and rear animals well with minimal negative effect on the land means for a better future for all.

I joined WWOOF because I'm passionate about sustainable living and connecting with nature. WWOOF offers a unique opportunity to learn about organic farming practices firsthand while immersing myself in different cultures and communities. It's a chance to step away from the hustle and bustle of city life, embrace a more sustainable lifestyle, and contribute to the preservation of the environment. Plus, the idea of learning new skills, meeting like-minded individuals, and experiencing authentic farm life was incredibly appealing to me.

I joined a few years ago while in Scotland and it was one of the best experiences I had while travelling. It taught me new skills and allowed me to see more of the culture and local life than I could have asked for. After spending a month with 2 families, I concluded that WWOOFing was the top way to travel. I’m joining WWOOF while in Australia in hopes of experiencing the culture of living as a local and being a part of a some cool and unique things!

I've had great experiences wwoofing in New Zealand in 2023 and I've dipped my toes into stuff I never thought I'd learn about or even be interested in. I want to continue exploring sustainability, regenerative farming, offgrid living etc. I also want to learn a bunch of other things urbanites don't really have access to (hunting, fishing, survival skills, curing and processing of animal skins, hut building, use of power tools, driving because I can't drive yet sadly, pickling, cheese wine beer fermentation, animal care, anything basically). I'm particularly interested in working with animals, have some experience with horses sheep and cattle and I'm keen to learn more.

We would like to experience farming. Since we had lived in the city for a lifetime so far, there was not many opportunity to experience agriculture. We have been wondering recently how the foods that we usually eat are grown and are brought to our dining plates. In Japan, organic farming is not mainstream without using the pesticides. So our consciousness of food safety is getting higher. This is the main reason why we would like to learn and be able to grow organic vegetables. Also, We would like to experience Australian culture and food.

I join WWOOF because I really want to learn new things and progress in different fields. I want to discover Australia in a different way, to see different things and I would like to leave the city for the countryside for a while. So I think become a volunteer will be a very nice experience by this living and learning exchange.

We traveled to Australia to experience the wildlife, wilderness, people, and culture of Australia. We have heard lots of positive feedback from WWOOFers on our travels and thought that being involved with the WWOOFING program would enable us to achieve those experiences.

I like to travel slowely: exploring an area in more detail without rushing through, getting to know new people and learn about their lives. In addition, I would like to contribute to a sustainable world, while learning about organic farming.

Indy and I joined wwoof to live new life experiences, meet new people, and embrace Australian in beautiful environments. WWOOF gives us the opportunity to dig into Australian's beautiful recluded places, which tourists don't often get the chance to discover.

I joined WWOOF because I was immediately intrigued by the opportunity to learn and grow while doing meaningful farm work. Being immersed in nature and connecting with others are experiences that truly resonate with me. While I've enjoyed my time in cities during my trip, it's the moments spent in nature that have left a lasting impact. Additionally, my mom's love for gardening has sparked my interest in learning more about this field and deepening my understanding of sustainable practices. I joined WWOOF with the hope of experiencing more of the beauty and serenity that nature has to offer, while also delving into the world of gardening and sustainable farming.

Honestly, it's because I don't have much money. Even though I studied English at university, I had never traveled abroad during my university years. However, I decided to travel abroad because I thought it would be a waste not to go abroad during my university years even though I had spent so much time studying English. However, since I am a student after all, I only have a limited amount of money, and the prices in Australia are higher than in Japan, so I was thinking that even though I didn't have much money, I didn't want to do a working holiday, and then I happened to find WWOOF. I thought WWOOF was a great system where travelers like me and hosts could have a win-win situation, so I decided to participate.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
