I know farms in Germany but would like to know how it is on an Australian farm. I would like to gain new knowledge about farm work. I am very interested in working with horses and cows. In addition, I would be interested in working on an orchard to learn what types of fruit are grown and processed.

I yearn for a deeper connection with nature, seeking to gain knowledge through hands-on, practical experiences. It's essential to explore sustainable methods of food cultivation. I want to delve deeper into this subject, with the ultimate goal of expanding my knowledge in the Netherlands and either cultivating my own food or sharing this knowledge with others.

I joined WWOOF as I see it as a fantastic way to meet people here in Australia, while also learning new skills working on farms. I want to be able to travel and see as much of this beautiful country as I can, and WWOOFing presents a unique opportunity to do that. I also see WWOOFing as being a good chance to meet locals in Australia, and I am hoping to create some lasting connections with my hosts that go beyond my stay at their farm.

I've spent my career working at startups and companies trying to help transition our economy away from fossil fuels. Agriculture is the most important lever we have to solving climate change and I'm passionate about learning the practices we need to make agriculture better for the planet!

Skills I Want to Learn:
I have had a dream to start my own self-sustaining farm ever since I was a young boy in highschool. I have disliked the way people live here for a long time. I dont like the work focused society and the extremely stressfull work ethic that people have here. I earn a decent wage but I work 45 hours a week just to barely pay the bills. I feel that having a self sustaining farm wil be a way more rewarding way of living for me because all the hard work I put in goes directly back to me and the potential family I wil have in the future. I wholeheartedly think working hard is the way to live but not in the European society that I have lived in for my entire life. I joined wwoof because im convinced I need to learn firsthand from experienced non-commercial farmers how they started up their farm and how they run it currently. Being away from my pretty stressfull live while on a farm is probably gonne be great for my development as a future self sufficient farmer. My main goals are learning about livestock manegement and about growing crops. I also really like learning about food preservation and pantry manegement because I think it is a critical skill for a self-sustaining farmer to have. I specifically chose Australia because I am looking to start my farm in a warmer climate and I have no experience with farming in a hot climate.

The reason I joined WWOOF is because I love interacting with animals. I have experienced volunteering as a universities representative for helping farming, plating, pick-up fruits, and feeding animals during this year fall break. 4days of experiencing these agricultural time of helping, I felt exciting and charming because I was able to meet different students who came from different universities. The time of cooperating together by one team working outside and the other team cooking inside, we had lots of fun helping and supporting each other. I felt that WWOOF is an exact program for me because I love to interact with people and moreover, since my major is biology and I am interested in studying about the Ministry of Food and Drug Saftety as well as handling animals, I wanted to learn about animal and agricultural works. It best fits me!! I am still a university student who wants to experience and explore the nature and the culture from the other countries and with this program of WWOOF, I felt like I can learn about this world!

I (Lana) have been to New Zealand eight years ago and had wonderful experiences with WWOOFing back then. It's great to meet locals and see their way of life and learn from each other. We'd also like to avoid the big cities and get closer to the Australian nature.

I wanna do WOOFING because I have never work in a farm or any type of agricultural holding. I want to learn and do some manual work. WWOOFING would also allow me to practice my english and discover Australia in a different way.

I joined WWOOF to experience a unique blend of travel, cultural exchange, and sustainable farming. It offers an opportunity to connect with local communities, learn about organic agriculture, and contribute to a more eco-friendly world while exploring the diverse landscapes of Australia. Also- the education I received until now has been pretty theoretical and I’m looking to learn some practical stuff to get a bit more “hands-on”, so bear with me please🙏
