I joined WWOOF to get to know new, indigenous people and catch some work experience. Also I find it interesting seeing how the people live their lives on the other side of our planet (from the German perspective) another reason for joining WWOOF was that I would like to work in the nature.

I joined WWOOF because I hope to eager new skills when it comes to farm working and gardening. I‘ve already gained a lot of knowledge in terms of working in the field of customer service during part-time jobs in Germany, but unfortunately I haven’t got many experiences in the field of farming, besides grape picking during the seasonal wine harvest in my hometown in Germany. However, I am open for every kind of work and eager to learn new skills and I am definitely not afraid to get my hands dirty.

I want to join WWOOF so I can learn from the locals about Australian Agriculture and meet people while staying with families and getting to know life in Australia. As I am still paying my rent in Brussels, it is the perfect opportunity to get your stay and food in exchange of 4 to 6h of help/work. I hope to learn a lot about agriculture and farming and to meet a lot of people, to enjoy my stay, to learn what I want in life and to learn myself better in this journey.

A great way to learn and gain experience in permaculture and hope to learn methods of structure and organisation required to respectfully live connected to land, the seasons and those that inhabit it. And I inturn, to offer a reliable, dependable can do approach to help out WWOOFER hosts. A great way to meet like minded people and community. A great way to make the world go round supporting values that matter most to me.

My husband and I want to get some land of our own in a few years, so we're joining WWOOF to see how others are managing their land! Alexandra grew up in farm country in the midwestern US so she's familiar with some aspects of growing crops and raising animals. Todd has read a LOT about permaculture and farming, and he's a great gardener. We want to learn by doing (anything and everything!).

I have joined wwoof because I want to learn about living on the land. My dream is to sell my house and buy a rural property and build an earthship or a geodome structure or something and live off grid. But I have lived in cities all my life and I have no idea how to do this and whether I can do this so it makes sense to learn first hand from people who can and do do it.

I did join WWOOF because some of my friends already made a "work and traval" trip and told me how well the app worked and what great experience they have made. So I also wanted to try this app and go on a "work and travel" trip and I always wanted to go to Australia because of the animals, the nature and the inhabitants. So I hope to see a lot of beautiful things in Australia and meet new people and make new friends. 🙂

I joined WWOOF as I am keen to meet new people and learn from organic farmers in Australia. I am excited to volunteer as I want to give back to this beautiful country I have been lucky enough to spend time in. I have many friends who have WWOOFed all over the world, and they have only had positive things to say about the experience.

To have the opportunity to live closer to nature and learn from people who grow food for a living regardless of geographical location. My first WWOOFing experience was in Awhitu Peninsula, New Zealand back in 2008 and I completed a PDC in 2016 with Milkwood in Sydney. Since then, I've also had to opportunity to visit and get to know farmers living in the interior highlands of Sarawak, who grow heirloom rice using traditional methods inherited from their ancestors.

I am planning to travel in Australia for a year or more and would love to make connections with farmers who love what they do. It's important to me to make community wherever I land and I think farming while traveling is a great way to do it!

For me, Australia is not about the money. It's more about gaining experience that will bring me further in life. Besides, it's a lot of fun when I know that I can help people and do something good for them. I just hope to gain experiences here that I can't have in Germany.
