After spending some time with some friends on their farm in NSW, I became intrigued by their stories of hosting Wwoofers. As someone who loves to travel and learn new skills, I thought that Wwoofing would be a perfect fit for me. The idea of travelling around the country, meeting new people, and gaining hands-on experience in various fields excited me.   I have always been interested in sustainable and eco-friendly practices, and Wwoofing would give me the opportunity to learn more about them. I am excited about the prospect of working on different types of farms, from small-scale family farms to large commercial operations. I believe that this experience will help me develop a greater appreciation for the hard work that goes into producing food and other goods.   Overall, I see Wwoofing as a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to a sustainable future. I am eager to embark on this adventure and see where it takes me.

My mum told me about WWOOFing and it just sounded perfect. I want to get out of the Illawarra and go west into the bush, learning new skills in nature and meeting new people. Overall, I'm interested in new experiences and trying things I wouldn't have had the opportunity to down here. It is a big dream of mine to be able to spend my young adult life working in the bush or on a farm and sustaining myself, but I know I need to develop some more farming type skills before I would be able to even try that, and WWOOFing seems like a perfect way to both learn how to go about that kind of thing, and to also see if the experience truly is for me.

We chose wwoofing because we were looking for an authentic experience in Australia. For us, wwoofing represents more than an exchange of work for accommodation; it's an opportunity to live at the heart of Australian culture, alongside the locals, discovering their traditions and way of life. This type of experience is exactly what we're looking for, to meet people from different backgrounds and learn directly from our hosts. Finally, our English is still limited, and we're convinced that wwoofing will help us progress much faster by living this total immersion.

I would love to discover the world of organic farming. I would like to learn as much as I can while helping and sharing good times with the hosts. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and I love meeting new people.

I decided to join as a way to get more hands on experience with organic farming and in the environmental sector. I have a degree in philosophy, but am looking to do a master's degree in some sort of environmental studies area (like law or policy).

Firstly, since I was in Japan, I have often participated in volunteer activities that I find rewarding, and I am interested in activities in a place with a completely different language and environment. Secondly, I am interested in agriculture and forestry. I used to be active in organic farming of fruits and vegetables at a university in Japan and would like to deepen my knowledge. I wanted to join an organization like WWOOF because the type of work I want to do is in agriculture or forestry. Thirdly, since I am on a working holiday visa, I thought it would be attractive to have food and a place to stay while working. By joining WWOOF, I would like to learn about the differences between Japan and Australia in terms of the natural environment.

To meet people and be part of the local community , help out and have job satisfaction, have a break from travelling , I have cycled all the way from Melbourne to Shepperton were it was rather chilly in the evening, I continued up through New South Wales were the weather was greatly improved I had just a few days of rain in Dubbo and Coonabarabran , I love the aboriginal names. Climbed up the great devid from Lismore to Nimbin very interesting town , through Kootingal (very amusing name) over the top at Ibore were I continued to the coast was six weeks about 2500 km now heading to Mackay then up to Townsville , Cain's and the Daintree forest ,mostly I love being in nature and wild camping. So I'm in need of a break and woofing should be perfect for me

I joined WWOOF in large part to support my travels while being environmentally and economically sustainable, but also for a means of meeting people. The advanced age of technology we live in unfortunately limits human interaction in real life, a limitation that hinders friend-making while traveling, so I feel I'm taking advantage of the less desirable circumstances to then increase my chances of meeting more like-minded people! I also hope to continue to learn about the world and innovative ways to live sustainably.

I joined WWOOF to connect with people who share a passion for nature and sustainable living. I'm eager to learn from others’ experiences and skills, whether it's in farming, gardening, or simply how to live closer to the land. For me, it’s all about exchanging knowledge, working together, and building connections with like-minded people. I hope to walk away with valuable skills and meaningful friendships:)

I have never had the opportunity to start a farming or livestock business in my life. That is why I want to use this service and gain experience. I also participated in this program because I am interested in the food and lifestyle of the local people. I want to use this experience to start farming in Japan.

I am between jobs and as I enjoyed visiting farming relatives as a kid I thought it would be a great time to reconnect with that part of myself, meet some new people and broaden my horizons. I hope to learn some new skills, continue to develop my home cooking repertoire (and happy to cook for others!) and make some new friends as I will be new to the area (but planning to stay long term).

I came to Australia to discover the Australian culture and way of life. I love talking to people and sharing moments of life. I find that woofing is the best way to learn more about the people around us in the world. So I'm looking for a host family to give me a real Australian experience. As a keen equestrian, I'm looking for a place surrounded by horses and nature.

I'm excited to travel around, meeting new people and wonderful places and learning some new skills. I am traveling up to Northern NSW for a University intensive in April and then again in August and I have decided to stay the whole time and avoid Melbourne for the winter.

Emely and I joined WWOOF because we want to get to know more of the australian culture. We also want to experience, what it is like to work on a farm, preparing for possible farm hand jobs in our future. We also hope to get to know a lot of new people, while being able to help them out.

We are joining because we have always wanted to experience what a self sustainable life could look like. We also believe that it is very good for the kids to experience what it is like to live and work on a farm, so they can appreciate the hard work that it takes to get food on the table. Friends of mine have done Wwoofing and had amazing experiences and made great life long connections. That is something we would love to experience too.

I am joining WWOOF to learn more about and begin to shift into a career in conservation and sustainability. I am passionate about plants and the ocean and am looking for hands-on education and experiences as I am still exploring options and my interests. I would love to learn more about agricultural practices and reef conservation. I also enjoy cooking and gardening.

As my personal bio may already reveal, I am very nature-oriented and also very engaged in sustainability issues. For these reasons, I am excited to go WWOOFing, clear my mind in the nature, and collect a lot of beautiful experiences and interesting insights! Moreover, I am a fan of exploring a country beyond the typical tourist routes and believe that WWOOFing will allow me to discover Australia in a whole new way. I have been dreaming of going WWOOFing since my graduation from school in 2017. Last year, after the pandemic has ended and I have been able to save some money, I was finally able to make this dream come true for the first time. I took a trip through the northwest of the USA during which I also WWOOFed and had an exceptionally great experience. For this reason, I would like to WWOOF again during my trip to Australia this year and I am really looking forward to it!

I decided to participate in WWOOF because I wanted to gain practical experience in sustainable agriculture and learn about eco-friendly living firsthand. It was also a chance to immerse myself in diverse cultures, meet like-minded people, and contribute to meaningful community projects. By engaging directly with the land and local practices, I hoped to enhance my understanding of environmental stewardship and build connections with people who are passionate about sustainability.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
