Skills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Biodynamics practices and techniques
I joined Wwoof Australia beacause I am coming to Adelaide for around 6 months and I wanted to find a way to be able to eat and have a place to live as well as to learn new thing and meet new people. I am a very active person and most of the tasks I would be required to do in a woofing program are mostly physical. I'm also looking to work outside most of the time and most of woofing host are looking for people to help them with outside jobs. I think this program suits me very well and that I would be a good participant! 🙂

I joined WWOOF out of a curiousity in permaculture, soil health and mushroom growing. I work in a laboratory with a wonderful team of scientists and I have a love of the outdoors and food production so am wanting to get my hands dirty (literally) exploring the world outside the city! See the about me section for the mixture of food and science that I love and want to keep on exploring!

I have a plan to go a language school in Perth but it will be 3 weeks and a little bit short for me so I will spend 4 more days in Perth by using WWOOFing. Also, this system looks so great so I would like to recommend to my friends after I experienced.

I joined WWOOF because I really want to learn about permaculture, regeneration work, organic practices, natural building methods and more! One of the reasons why I came to Australia is to learn these skills and spend the rest of my life working amongst nature, trying to restore damaged ecosystems and learning about them every day!. I used to live in Chile in an avocado farm, where they destroyed the native ecosystem for planting avocados trees, but after 10 years that the plantation was abandoned, the native resurfaced again. My dream is to help the regeneration of the ecosystem, so I am very happy to be able to learn for make it come true. I believe that the best way to learn is by watching, listening and doing. I am really excited about this experience, I hope to have more knowledge about how to live in a more natural way, connected with nature. Another reason I wish to join WWOOF is I believe it is a great way to see Australia in more personal depth, and meet the local farmers making a beneficial impact on this country.

I love the concept! Although I am a people-person and grew up in the suburbs of Copenhagen, I come from a very nature-enthusiastic family who’s always had the motto “ud på tur, aldrig sur” which roughly translates “let’s go explore, never a bore”. The kindergarten I went to had lots of animals, such as rabbits, goats, hens and pigs, but also snakes and pogonas, and I loved taking care of them (though I admit, the snakes - not so much). My parents always had a hard time getting me home at the end of the day. From I was about 11 I went to equestrian camps around Denmark almost every summer and stayed on farms, where I made many new friends – both human and nonhuman. My mum has always had very green fingers which have rubbed off on me over the years. My earliest memory is of me and my brother helping her dig up dandelion roots in the garden. Albeit she did pay us about a dime for every root, so I guess the excitement was owing more to the fact that we'd earn money to buy candy rather than the gardening labour itself. I became an amateur ornithologist during the Covid pandemic along with my best friend who happens to have tried wwoofing and highly recommends it. It sounds like the perfect mix of active holiday, nature, and meeting both new people and a different culture. I visited Australia years ago and had such a great time there. The people were super friendly. Since then I've really wanted to come back, and now I hope to do so as a wwoofer.

I would like to learn farm works and local Australian life. When people work together, we can learn a lot of things. When people live together, we can share many important things. They are what I would like to do, and WWOOF is the best way to achieve them.

Learn about WWOOF the first time when I was travelling around Europe. Get the chance to get an amazing WWOOF experience in Portugal, on a small vineyard, harvesting grapes and making wine. That's where and why I fall in love with wine. Would like to learn more about it now, so time to see different places, different winemaking techniques and share new stories!

I joined WWOOF to enable me to discover Australia and to be able to live in a good dynamic of work and sharing. My aim is to improve my English and build a good relationship with my hosts. I'm really looking forward to being totally immersed, and I can't wait for the whole thing to start.

Rather than just looking around when traveling, I prefer to delve into the lives of local people, communicate with them, and build relationships!I have had three experiences as an international volunteer, two experiences of working and staying on a small island, and one year of working experience in a NGO in Africa. These experiences have changed my attitude towards life a lot! Watching netizens share their experiences in WWOOF were very wonderful. I also hope to get closer to nature and learn how to get along with nature.

I have been wanting to learn about farming and permaculture since I was young but I've never had the opportunity nor time to explore it. I feel like this is the right moment to go on an adventure and tick this off my to-do list

I love the idea of learning new things from local people while doing something good. Caring for animals, restoring destroyed nature or picking fruit – I would love to contribute in all of these things and make a little difference.

I've been working in hospitality mostly in Los Angeles for the past 7 years, and I want to make a change in my life journey. I'm interested in sustainable eco-farming and possibly changing future food systems for large metropolitan areas.

Lynfield' is a farm which is located northwest of Gympie on the beautiful Wide Bay Creek. We follow regenerative farming practices moving cattle through cells regularly, fertilising the ground naturally. We enjoy growing our own vegetables and eating our own livestock which are born and bred on the property and are very well cared for. Volunteering includes helping with the cattle, feeding horses, chooks, attending to the veggie garden and help around the yard. We enjoy a meal together each night. Accommodation is available for up to 3 people in a separate room to the main house. We are only an hour away from Noosa and Rainbow Beach.
