We love the woofing principle and the win/win that it gives for both the woofer and the host. It gives the opportunity to encounter australian people and learn to know more about their lives and culture. We are also very willing to learn some new things and as we are very into nature, woofing jobs are a wonderful opportunity !

I have wwoofed in the UK and loved it. I've learned a lot, reconnected with growing food, and met the nicest people. I am now in Australia for a year, and I would like to learn more about permaculture, meet new people. I am also looking for paid work, so wwoofing would be a way for me to stay longer in an area and look for work.

Joining WWOOF is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a global community that values sustainable agriculture and cultural exchange. By volunteering at organic farms, we can not only gain practical experience in nature but also contribute to meaningful projects. It fosters a sense of community and fosters essential skills while promoting physical activity. WWOOF, as an organization, aligns with our values, and provides a platform to learn about organic food, agriculture and culture. Through hands-on participation, we aim to promote the organic and sustainability movement, while creating a positive impact on both the environment and local communities. Moreover, the aim of WWOOF is to facilitate the development of practical skills in organic farming, offer insights into rural life and foster global cultural exchange. The organization's emphasis on ecological methods, solidarity and ethical economics resonates with our commitment to responsible and sustainable practices. As WWOOF grows worldwide with shared missions between individual countries, it not only educates people but also supports local farmers and future generations. I joined WWOOF because I want to meet new people and get to know the real life in Australia. Furthermore I am interested in new cultures especially the daily life on an organic farm. While spending my time on the farm I would like to achieve new impressions and expand my knowledge about farming and Australia in general and of course I also want to save money. And how did I learn about WWOOF? A good friend of mine, who has already done a year of Work&Travel, recommended me to create a profil on WWOOF, because it worked perfectly for him.

I joined WWOOF because, as of 8/1/24, I flew one way into Hobart on a whim with absolutely no idea where or what I’d get up to, nor have I been to Tasmania or know anyone here… I’m leaving this experience to fate with some trust in the process… WWOOF would be a great way to meet and help like-minded people. Nonetheless, I look forward to meeting you and lending my assistance!

I decided to become a Wwoofer because I really wanted to travel to Australia to discover new peoples with a different life style. I always wanted to come to Australia for its beautiful scenery but also for the richness of the Australian flora and fauna. I want that dream realized. By the way, sometimes when I finish my work day I spend my free time tending the vegetable garden, tinkering, trimming the bushes. Which is why I think I might be interested in working on a biological farm. I think Wwoof might help me practice and improve my English and this is really important to my career. However, Wwoof will also help me discover the Australian way of life by living with a local family. I think Wwoof might be a great experience for me and I'm also ready to share my French culture.

In my endeavour to learn new skills, meet interesting people and grow in experience, I have decided to attempt to walk as far around the country as I can in a year, working as I go. I am joining WWOOF now, as I am at the NSW border and have very little idea of where to from here. I have already had experience working for accommodation on a couple of farms this month, and have found it to be my favourite form of work. So, my hope is that, by joining WWOOF I will be able to establish contact with like-minded people and gain some direction for my travel and learning.

Many people around me in France started to talk about buying land, growing food and being off-grid. I would love to experience how that would look and feel like.

I have known WWOOF for a while now, and I have been wanting to volunteer in one of many farms around the world. Inspired by a sustainable farm in Yogyakarta, the city where I live back home in Indonesia, where they have this beautiful place with animals and crops, I really want to know more about things such as sustainable living, permaculture, or growing our own food. While I am trying to make the most of my time while I am here in Australia, I would also love to listen to stories from you and the way you are living your life. It would be exciting and meaningful experience to know what it’s like to have a farm life, hoping that one day I will have a farm like yours as well. And also, I want to learn your family recipe! I remember the time when I bought brussel sprout for the first time not knowing how to cook them properly.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
