Wwoof sounded like a really good way for finding farm jobs around Australia. I really want to expand my work experience in farming and animal care, and being able to learn about local communities and the people living there. I really like volunteering  while travelling, being able to meet new people and work in more local communities! I also like that the Wwoof work focus on supporting organic farms, and I'm really interested in learning more about how organic and more sustainable farms work! I’m also very interested in learning more about animal care in different job environments, and with different species!

I joined WWOOF because I want to gain new experiences, learn more about farming, and meet great people along the way. I’m in Australia on my first Work and Holiday visa. And for me, this journey is all about stepping out of my comfort zone, discovering my strengths and weaknesses, and growing as a person. WWOOFing is the perfect way to do that. It allows me to learn new skills, experience farm life, and connect with locals in a meaningful way.   I also want to stay in Australia for another year, which means I need to complete my 88 days of farm work. WWOOFing is a great way to do this while actually enjoying the experience. I love the idea of working together, learning from each other, gaining new experiences and contributing to something bigger. I’m excited to help out, gain new skills, and make great memories along the way!

Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: In Our Home
Our 1908 home is on 84 acres 6kms south of Violet Town. We have a garden with vegetables, herbs & fruit trees for our own use, based on Permaculture, ‘what grows best’ or ‘what makes us happy’ principles. One hundred and ten olive trees supply us with pickled olives & oil. An adjacent nature reserve (with our ‘private’ swimming pool!) provides habitat for abundant native wildlife including the elusive platypus. We enjoy seasonal foods. Robena is a talented chef who is happy to share her large kitchen. Accommodation in our house for 1-2 (couple or singles). Mixed shared meals. ‘The Gorge’ is a TV, STRESS & SMOKE-FREE Zone! P/u at Violet Town railway station (Benalla/Euroa b.a). Projects vary throughout the year & include gardening, weeding, watering, seasonal food processing & general maintenance. Fully vaccinated WWOOFers most welcome.

I joined to learn how to manage land, in hopes that I buy my own land one day. I value connection to food and being sure of its quality. I like the idea of raising a family on a farm one day in the future.

A friend introduced me to WWOOFing, and after hearing about others' experiences, I became very interested in trying it myself. People who participated in WWOOFing shared how they had the chance to experience a lifestyle that they normally wouldn’t, and they found it incredibly enjoyable. Some of the activities they mentioned included sheep shearing, taking care of cattle, gardening, and DIY projects, all of which sounded fascinating to me. I think WWOOFing is a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills while immersing myself in a different way of life. Since I want to make my time in Australia both enjoyable and educational, I have decided to give WWOOFing a try. I am excited about the idea of working on farms, engaging with nature, and meeting new people while expanding my knowledge and skills.

I'm in the need of an opportunity in volunteering in specifics area and specifics jobs in order to fix my visa situation as being a Working holyday visa maker. I really want to keep what I've built here, and enjoy the Australian experience as long as I can.

I like the opportunity they offer, especially to lear how to grow your own food. I’ve been living in Italy where the food is starting tasting tasteless and I don’t want to support this industry. While in the Byron Bay Area I've seen a lot of farmers that produce, grow and sell their food in the Byron shire, which tastes really good. It’s a life style that I would like to join and learn more and more about it.

I wanted to do WWOOFing originally from the start when I came to Australia but I didn't have the courage back then. But now that I know how Australia works and how nice the people are I definitely want to see what I can learn from working on a farm.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
