I’m looking for an adjustment of lifestyle. I previously worked as a paediatric occupational therapist in a high paced 9-5 job. I’m looking for the chance to learn and grow skills to connect with others in a community

One of my main motivations for joining the WWOOFing community is my strong interest in working outdoors and gaining hands-on experience in farming, cultivation, and sustainable living. Beyond learning practical skills, this journey is also a personal challenge for me—to step out of my comfort zone, be away from my friends and family, and prove to myself that I can adapt, work hard, and grow both personally and professionally. Additionally, I see this as a great opportunity to improve my English by practicing it in a real-life environment while exchanging with local people and fellow travelers. I believe that WWOOFing will be an amazing opportunity to develop valuable skills while connecting with people who share a passion for nature and sustainability. I would love the opportunity to join your farm, contribute my energy, and learn from this experience. Please let me know if you have any availability or need more information from me. Looking forward to hearing from you! Best regards, Gabriel

I joined WWOOF because i want to see how people live on the other side of the world. When I’m with you, I'm looking forward to have a good mix of community, being around chill people, working and experiencing Australia's culture and nature. I hope that someday, I will leave and look back with a smile, remembering a happy time with happy people and tons of memories which remind me of my year in Australia. I think it's just a great opportunity to exchange, gain and share some Australian and German culture and experiences and just have a good time.

We want to learn new skills that we don't encounter in our daily lives as engineers and discover how life on a farm works. It's also a way for us to give more meaning to our travels.

When we did vacations in different countries, we wanted to discover the culture and also to meet the locals really. Unfortunately, it´s not enough time on a short trip to discover a country and it´s locals really well. So, how can you get such things better than do the next step: work, live and laugh with the real people from the part of the world that needs to be discovered. As well, I (Patrick) want to improve my English skills, which Darya tried to help, but abroad would be better for sure…I started with English, just couple years ago. But here in the province where the most don`t talk English at all, it`s hard to level up. In the last 2 years relationship with my girl, we talked a lot about being abroad to improve my English and also have a “once in a lifetime experience”. So here we are, ready for a big journey, full of exciting experiences and interesting meets!

In Australia, our first experience was in a family's house in Brisbane as gardener and housekeeper. We really enjoyed it and we'd like to be volunteers to bring our help, as well to complete our 88 days and extend our visa.

City/Town: Tabulam
Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type:
Lucky’s Ridge is a 120acres of bush, heavily timbered, situated north NSW, near Tabulam, at the foot of great dividing range. It’s slightly subtropical (summer rain, dry winter usually, no frost). Since 2016, I’ve been busy establishing gardens and orchards on a few acres near the house and breeding small animals to feed myself and my guests. In 2021, I’ve had a primitive campground approved and open. It was mostly to host seasonal self reliant backpackers coming to pick blueberries at Mountain Blue farm, but I’m also keen to host people interested in off grid living, homesteading and sustainability or whoever wants to come and camp in this quiet part of the bush.

I’m a city boy who’s always dreamed of experiencing farm life. In 2018, I volunteered at a permaculture community, and it was an unforgettable experience that taught me so much about sustainable living. Since then, I’ve been gradually transforming my small suburban backyard into organic veggie garden beds. I’m joining WWOOF because I want to continue learning from hands-on experiences, share the skills I’ve picked up, and connect with like-minded people who are equally passionate about living sustainably.

To be able to travel in a slow paced, comfortable way, and to have unique experiences I never otherwise would - with the idea of connecting to places through relational exchange, rather than just paying for a place to stay and passing through.   I'm looking for somewhere in Townsville or Cairns area, for ASAP.
