Short Property Description

i38 acres (11 hectares) along the Colo River in NSW one of the few remaining clean rivers in NSW

. The river is clear and safe to swim in. There is a comfortable 4 bedroom house with a wrap around verandah of 25 metres plus air con, ceiling fans and a grand piano. The house is on 3.5 metre stilts and was safe during the 4 floods we had in 2022. The house is built into the side of a mountain which is great for climbing.

I have some dorper sheep and there are kangaroos, goannas possums and I have a lovely puppy.
I need help with weeding vegetable beds, watering the 120 trees I have planted, removal of bamboo, clearing bush and cutting down young trees for reasons of fire control and renovation work on a flood affected building.

The Colo River is only 1.5 hours away from Sydney and I can pick up people from the train station at Windsor which is 30 minutes driver away. I have 2 kayaks available for use and just floating down the river for a few kilometres is a great and safe experience as the river is not that deep and perfectly clear to the sandy riverbed.

The area is a flood affected disaster zone so qualifies for visa extensions.

Minimum stay is 5 days with up to 6 hours work per day. If you have any special food needs please let me know in advance.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

I have always dreamed of travelling and being a WWOOFer myself and have stayed at a few farms overseas. Now that I have my own property I have the opportunity to share the place with people who love the countryside.

I also have a large house and live by myself and my dog. I still work in Sydney a few days a week. Most travellers would never get to visit Colo River as they get stuck doing the usual tours to places which are much more commercial.
