Because there are many classroom lectures at university, we want to learn more about agriculture by experiencing the work of farmers. We both have experience working with farmers in Japan, but we also want to know about overseas farmers. If you accept us as wwoofers, we would like to work as a part of you! We are especially interested in growing vegetables and fruits, as well as raising livestock. We'd also like to communicate a lot and learn from you about practical farming skills and thoughts on how to be environmentally friendly and sustainable.

To connect, explore, grow and live. I want to see more of the world and grow more skillsets that are genuinely and profoundly valuable, sharing my own knowledge and creating collaborative, creative communities within-communities.

I have always wanted to Wwoof and finally have the time! I’m travelling in Australia for 2 months late April to late June and would like to volunteer not only to save my budget but because I am keen for a cultural exchange with a host and to help and learn. As I am on a tourist visa I believe I can volunteer on non commercial/small farms. I especially want to learn about gardening, permaculture and organic farming methods.

This year is an opportunity for me to explore, and in doing so, grow and learn about the world around me. To this degree, I am looking to branch out, to try novel things, visit new places, and meet new people. To me, this comes in the form of WWOOF. WWOOF offers these opportunities to me, allowing me to dive into new aspects of life, things that I would never normally have the chance to do, all the while immersing myself in new cultures and making new friends. This, in combination of the sustainability practices I will attempt to incorporate into my own life, makes local farming a brilliant adventure to embark during my gap year.

I’m in Australia to immerse myself in new environments, meet inspiring people, and learn more about organic and sustainable practices. I’m hands-on, quick to learn, and open to all kinds of tasks, whether it’s planting, harvesting, maintenance, or working with animals. I was fortunate enough to work 2 months on a dairy farm in New Zealand over 9 years ago and would love the opportunity to spend time on a farm again! Finally, I'm keen to learn new skills and connect with new faces !

I love the idea of experiencing farm life. Having lived in a culture that can be very 'heady', I welcome the opportunity to get my hands dirty and to explore aspects of life that are more deeply connected to the earth in a broader way and less influenced by human hands. WWOOF seems to me to offer exactly that. I look forward to getting to know the natural environment, to connect with open-minded people and to develop skills and ideas that I can use to experience life more fully.

I think WWOOFING is a great way to start a trip in a new country. By working in exchange for room and board, I will have the freedom and time to explore the country and get to know the local area, which can be difficult/hard. Typically, the hosts offer this arrangement to promote cultural exchange rather than just labor, often on family farms. I expect to work with them while also sharing meals, conversations, and cultural experiences. Another goal of mine is to discover the country I have only seen on TV and which looks very interesting and beautiful.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I want to join the WWOOF program because I have already done a one-month woofing experience at a sheep farm in France, and I absolutely loved it. During that time, I learned a lot about agricultural work, caring for animals, and the importance of teamwork. It was not only enriching on a personal level but also deeply satisfying to contribute to essential tasks like sheep herding. I would love to repeat this experience in Australia, not only because I have such fond memories of it, but also to continue learning and connecting with the land. Being environmentally conscious, I believe that cultivating the earth and preserving resources are vital skills for the future. Participating in agricultural activities through woofing would be the perfect opportunity to combine learning, sharing, and engaging with values that are close to my heart.

We live in a beautiful 33 acre organic orchard farm in the Northern Rivers of NSW (35 mins north of Byron Bay), 15-20 mins to best beaches Cabarita or Pottsville. We are a family run hobby farm and have over 20 varieties of tropical fruit here. We also have a lovely creek running through the farm for cooling off on those hot days. We have a large 8m GEO Dome that can be used for accommodation and undercover bbq area for cooking. See picture.

I want to create a food forest and learn as much as I can. When I was in high school I found some videos on youtube showing some potential programs to volunteer with, and wwoof was mentioned. I've wwoofed in a few places in New Jersey since joining the USA branch a few years back.

This is because I want to have an experience that I can't get through regular sightseeing, and I want to feel a connection with the local people through communication and doing common tasks. Additionally, it is important to us that the children have the opportunity to interact with each other.

I joined WWOOF to experience farm life and I hope to be able to use my skills, improve them and in particular learn a lot of new things. I want to get to know the Australian way of life, meet new people, make friends from different nations and become a member of a community of like-minded people.

The reason why I try to join in WOOF is that I would like to have an opportunity to stay with people in different backgrounds and work in a farm.   In Japan, Australia is known as an agricultural country and I often see a lot of imported products from Australia such as beef and flour. I believe that understanding Australian agriculture through practical experiences will greatly benefit my dream of working in international companies because these companies deal with exports and imports with foreign countries including Australia. Through the experience of WWOOF, I hope to gain great experiences in Australia while also improving my English skills.   My English level is intermediate and I can have a basic conversation.   I would be glad to work in your nice farm. Thank you!!

I joined WWOOF to experience a rich human connection, discover new cultures, and connect with passionate people. It also allows me to learn skills related to farm life while making a tangible contribution. It's a great opportunity to travel in a different way, while building authentic connections and experiencing unique experiences.

I joined WWOOF so that I can meet local australians and get to know the country with the help of people who live there. Volunteering is a great way to get to know people and I’m really looking forward to meeting host families who I can feel at home with even if I’m on the other side of the globe from where I live. Being able to help by volunteering is also very important to me and I really hope that I can make families everyday life easier by helping them with anything they might need assistance with.

In addition to the hostel and backpacker life, I also want to get to know the Aussi lifestyle and especially the one a bit away from the tourist attractions and big famous cities. I'm also looking forward to helping out and working on the farm.

I joined WWOOF because I miss working with my hands and being part of something tangible. I deeply admire the work farmers do and am eager to learn more about sustainable living and food systems. I’m excited to get my hands dirty, learn through experience, and contribute in any way I can—while making connections and gaining a deeper appreciation for the land and the people who care for it.

To get some agricultural experience and see more of Australia. To find a position that would allow me gain hands on farming experience whilst working remotely 3 days a week.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
