I joined WWOOF because I am passionate about sustainable living and eager to learn more about farming and environmentally conscious practices. WWOOFing offers a unique opportunity to immerse myself in a hands-on experience, gain practical skills, and better understand the hard work and dedication that go into running a farm. Through this journey, I hope to achieve a deeper connection with nature, broaden my knowledge of farming techniques, and contribute positively to the projects I join. I also look forward to meeting inspiring hosts, sharing stories, and experiencing the cultural richness of life in Australia.

I first started WWoofing 20 years ago, it was great travelling around meeting people, seeing different ways of growing things. I'm looking to pick up some skills and techniques that I can apply to my own vege garden at home.

Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is one of Australia's leading Permaculture demonstration sites for over 20 years. Originally founded by Geoff Lawton, over the last few years it has developed into a community Eco Hamlet shared by 8 other families with the same vision of continuing it's legacy as the Permaculture Research Institute Australia. Our farm is 66 acres in total, with 1 side boarded by the beautiful Terania Creek, and we are fully off-grid. Shareholders have been busy developing their own sites of 2.5 acres each into flourishing homesteads for their families, along side building a new community of likeminded members that share the farm's resources and vision. Wwoofers would be assisting on one of the shareholder's land, helping a family build their homestead whilst contributing to the greater community. Jobs include the regular animal routine for our 2 dairy cows, 30 chickens, moving the chicken tractor every few weeks, gardening, propagating, taking care of seedlings and plants in the nursery, establishing food forests, making compost, and whatever other exciting projects we are doing which could include work on the natural swim pond, building, it all depends what time of year it is!

Located in the shadows of Nightcap national park, in the sleepy, picturesque village of The Channon, Djaning seeks to incorporate contemporary regenerative agricultural practices with an artistic flair. Utilising a holistically managed Permaculture mainframe with Syntropic agriculture as our driving force. Being a family farm we have an emphasis on rewilding and nature play.

We enjoy traveling and connecting with many people along the way. As we improve our English skills, we also want to learn more about Australian culture. During our time living in Australia, we have developed an interest in organic living, and we are eager to experience it firsthand, which is why we decided to join this program.

We are in the early stages of building our Urban Coastal Homestead. Based on Permaculture principles, we are designing an Urban landscape that allows us to raise our kids in a community enriched environment where they can learn to become waste free, climate resilient and leaders in sustainable living. We are continually adding to our edible garden, and learning to grow fruit and vegetables for food swap, community cook ups, and sale. We also have chickens and trying to get a biogas digester up and running (more for the educational value). We live only a short walk to the beach, in a beautiful part of the world - our beaches are quiet, clean and stunning.

We are a French couple who have just arrived in Australia. Our goal is to leave Australia by the end of 2027. Our first goal is to learn English, as we have a relatively low level. We want to learn through immersion and validate our 88 days in the future. Sorry for my English : )

There are many things I can't experience on a normal trip, so I'd like to do it again. When I did wooof about 13 years ago, I had a very valuable experience, harvesting pecan nuts at a farm, taking care of chickens, and taking care of the many animals that my grandmother kept. I also thought it was nice to be able to get closer to the host, which was a little different from ordinary travel.

I joined WWOOF to connect with new people and experience the real Australian lifestyle. While surfing is one of my passions, I also enjoy spending time in nature and getting involved in farm work. I see this as a great opportunity to learn about farming, meet interesting people, and contribute with a positive attitude. I’m looking forward to gaining new farm skills and making the most of my time on the farm!

I have 6 Acres next to Lake Wivenhoe, 1 hour drive from Brisbane. The lake is (3-5 min drive and you are at the water’s edge), so this will provide convenient recreational opportunities such as swimming, fishing & boating, mount Glorious Rd is also just a few minutes away which too is a beautiful area to explore. I have at least one spare room so am happy to provide accommodation.
