Farm in Mary Valley Queensland, we are setting up and establishing gardens, trees, relaxing recreation areas by creek, planting food forest and gardens. We are also breeding and showing of Andalusian horses, Azteca horses and Brahma Chickens. There are rolling hills, fantastic views of mountains, a creek and many hiking trails in nearby forest. We do equine therapy, training, and rehabilitation for horses in addition to making our own essential oils for therapeutic use and hoping to have an herbal garden created so all our oils are farm grown. We are working towards organic farming in the future so we do not use any harmful sprays and will be planting heritage seeds.

While travelling I volunteered for 19 different projects . I love to learn new skills, exchange knowledge, share parts of our life. I prefer to support animal and environment friendly projects. In Melbourne I volunteered for an organic commercial farm. I got lots of experience in weeding haha. The work was exhausting but we had an amazing time. Last year I volunteered for 3 month in the philippines for a couple with an organic permaculture farm. We planted banana trees, repaired fences, built garden sheds, watered the garden, transplanted, repaired and mulched the beeds, trimmed and shredded trees, grinded coconuts, looked after the cow, forstered kittens,... They also had an organic chicken and duck farm. I cleaned the enclosure, collected eggs, cleaned the duck ponds and did whatever needed to be done. They had 5 different types of compost (worm, maggot, hot, cold and dry). We were very busy turning the piles and determining the correct composition. We add cow, rabbit and worm poop and analyzed the fungi and bacteria with the microscope to improve the composting technique to use the end product for the soil in the vegetable beds. This project offered me a variety of opportunities to develop my craft skills and my knowledge of sustainable planting and a lifestyle close to nature. Another farm volunteering i did was in 2022 for a family with a big permaculture garden in Costa Rica. I had to plant pineapples, cut down banana trees, dig holes for cocoa trees, look after the ducks, rake leaves, built raised beds, maintain the garden, walk the dogs... We also sanded a lot of wood to renovate their house. i absolutely loved it! Furthermore I volunteered for several hostels, 4 animal shelters, sailboats, a surfcamp, a yoga and free dive center,... i also volunteered as a muralist and a waitress in a chinese caffe.

Traveling is about more than just sightseeing; it's a journey of learning. Helping others and connecting with locals allow us to understand different cultures deeply. Genuine friendships formed during these experiences transcend borders and enrich our lives. We hope to learn many useful things on the farms to take home with us.

Beautiful permaculture farm in the heart of Gippsland. We are a self-sufficient property with an extensive mixed orchard (apple, pear, figs cherries, berries, persimmon...), vegetable and herb gardens as well as various livestock (Chicken, Sheep, Ducks) & Bees. The property is roughly 15ha and includes bushland as well as 5 dams with plenty of yabbies to catch and a river (fishing possible in your free time), You can fish for Eel, Carp, Fresh water Crayfish, Yabbies, Trout & Red Fin only 50 meters from the door. And we have 2 super cute Puppies running around... We offer a unique experience as well as luxury accommodation ( your own bedroom, bathroom, and living room)  I will be cooking most of the time as I used to be a professional chef in Germany & Switzerland, I have worked for Michelin Star restaurants in both Switzerland & Germany, so will be mainly European cookings and my wife would make something Asian from time to time. Work will include anything from fruit picking to gardening and animal care, cleaning & property maintenance, as you will have to also keep your rooms clean and keep the kitchen clean after use. You will be learning everything about sustainable farming on a non-commercial level and gain first-hand experience at the same time, which will help you when you create your self-sufficient lifestyle in the future ....

My dream is to one day have a little farm to call my own. Until then I'd love to get involved amongst various fields of farming and experience each families way of farm life to develop the skills and hard work to reach my little dream, all while hopefully making lifelong friendships.

We are looking for a cultural and meaningful experience in Australia. Wwoof means for us the best tourism, through working and helping local people as a way of traveling. We would love to practice more about agriculture or mechanics and to develop our manual and technical skills. Wwoof seems to be the right place to find generous people ready to give us these experiences in return for our motivation.

I want to learn how to grow my own produce and also how to take care of it. Also interested in animals. Hope to own my own farm one day so I would like to get some first hand experience in the field.

Skills I Want to Learn: Regenerative Agriculture, Marketing produce
The main reason I joined WWOOF is to gain some experience on farms practicing regenerative agriculture techniques (whilst I travel) as well as meeting the people in charge of such practices to understand why they do it and how it has benefited them. I ultimately want to find out what might work on our farm back home and how such techniques can be implemented. As well as this I enjoy working outside and helping out where I can. Additionally it’s nice to be based somewhere longer than a few days whilst traveling, to get to a know a place and the people that live there.

I registered here because I want to learn about agriculture. I grew up in a big city, so I admire the countryside. I especially love animals, so I want to challenge myself with a job where I can work with them.

I heard from WWOOF from a friend, and i think its a good option for me to work and travel in Australia. After my bible school i was looking for a new Adventure. I was always dreaming about traveling the world, it was pure coincidence that i have a friend which moved to australia, she told me so much about her new life, i decided that i want to experience the same.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
