I want to meet people and to do the 88 days to qualify for my visa extension for the second year in Australia . Additionally, I want to learn how to live on a farm and help the Australian agricultural industry grow and develop. It is important for me to contribute to the community, even if it is not my own community in Israel. I believe that the experience of volunteering is amazing—it can benefit the farm I volunteer at while also giving me a great sense of fulfillment.

Because I want to learn farming, gardening, and anything related to those through the volunteer. Also, I love the concept of WWOOF, and as a student I just wanted to try before i get too busy working.

I joined WWOOF to gain hands-on experience in sustainable farming while connecting with like-minded people. I’ve always been passionate about working with the earth and caring for animals, and I believe WWOOFing will give me the opportunity to learn sustainable farming practices while connecting with the natural world. I hope to gain hands-on experience, contribute to eco-friendly practices, and deepen my understanding of how we can live in harmony with nature. Through this journey, I aim to grow both personally and environmentally, to broaden my understanding of sustainable living, embrace a self-sufficient lifestyle and explore diverse cultures while making a positive impact on the environment.

OUR PROPERTY: We have an 3 hectare vineyard as well as a large mixed fruit orchard (fresh fruit all year round!) and vegetable garden, an alpacha, several dozen Wiltshire sheep plus two small friendly dogs who love meeting new house guests. The whole property is organic and we originally planted the gardens using permaculture principles. We are also proponents of Regenerative Farming and have recently been listed on Sustainable Table. SIGHTS AND SOUNDS: We are about a 10 minute drive from the regional town of Albany, which is a gateway to many adventures and natural attractions, including beautiful bays and beaches. We are happy to help you out with guidance and advice about tours and and hikes. Having your own car is ideal if you wish to see more than just the town, but not essential. VOLUNTEERING: If you are fit, healthy, willing and happy travellers we invite you to help us with our small family-run, organic vineyard near Albany on the Amazing South Coast of Western Australia. Albany is 400km from Perth (only 1 hour via plane) and is a beautiful, historic, seaside town. We have hosted many such travellers previous under WWOOF and also a similar scheme and we thoroughly enjoy the cultural exchange that occurs, as well as being very grateful for the help we receive.

I want to work jobs that matter and be around authentic people in an authentic atmosphere. My hope is to learn new things, help out the hosts and get a glimpse of the daily life on an Australian farm. I have a little experience in farm work and animal care and I really enjoyed it. Getting to know interesting people and making good memories is another point why I signed up for WWOOF.

To have the opportunity to work on properties as a learner and gain skills and knowledge. I'm a hands on type of learner. I have a particular interest in mushroom cultivation, would like to learn about bee keeping, organic gardening techniques, food preserving and plants as medicine.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I WWOOFed on a cranberry farm in Oregon, USA early in my undergraduate career. I was an environmental science major at the time and was studying global food systems through the lens of sustainability. While I have since pivoted to medicine as I fell in love with biology and the idea of working with patients, I still have a deep appreciation for food as a way to bring people together and the act of cultivation.

We want to take advantage of this rare time in our lives when we are in a new country and are free of any professional and/or academic obligations. WWOOF seems like a perfect opportunity to learn useful skills and meet new people. It will surely be a memorable experience for us to share together.

I've already had the opportunity to spend six months WWOOFing in Ireland, which was an extremely enriching experience. I discovered working outdoors, interacting with animals, and the satisfaction of helping maintain a property while sharing the daily lives of the hosts. It gave me a taste for volunteering and the desire to repeat this adventure in a different setting.

Accommodation Type: In Our Home, Caravan
We are gradually restoring a neglected farm, a beautiful 180 acres bordering NP and close to beaches. Low-tech hard work & BD preparations are slowly producing results on our pastures. Our animals are part of the family - Josephine the milking cow, a small beef herd, chooks, ducks & sometimes pigs. Our vegie garden is established, the orchard in the making. Most of our food is produced on the farm, but fishing trips supplement our diet, which is meaty, tasty & healthy. Volunteering includes work in pastures, weeding, raking, fencing, help in vegie garden & orchard, feeding animals and building projects. Own transport preferable to take advantage of the beautiful surrounding area. Caravan accommodation for a single or a couple. No children. Meat-based meals. Non-smokers only. Negotiable stays after first few days. Cannot take WWOOFers during winter.

Sundari has been evolving for over 40 years, first and foremost as a sanctuary for all who live here. We are three shares, living in love and respect for each other. We are all dedicated to the beauty and health of this magnificent land. It is a remarkable arboretum of over 2000 species. I've been working. with permaculture professionally all over the world, and  returned three years ago after 31 years living overseas (mostly India and various parts of Europe). Having designed for so many others, finally it was time to design our own place (my wife Francesca is an Italian agronomist), and build another house (the old one is in the rainforest we planted and in need of restoration as a guest house), almost entirely from the trees we planted three decades ago, all cut and milled within 80 metres of the housesite. The house is now almost functionally complete (the details may take forever!), working on completing a new bathroom/toilet/laundry. Until now, this has been a very 'rustic' bush bathroom; full respect is given to privacy.   We've planted an extensive food forest of diverse species, to add to what remains of the original forest garden, as well as extensive vegetable gardens for our own kitchen, for friends and guests. It's in need of a big refurbishment at the moment, having been neglected while pushing ahead with the construction as the primary priority. This whole land, shared with two others, is a remarkable arboretum of mainly Australian rainforest species, and there are kilometres of footpaths all over the land, giving access to the most beautiful parts of it. One boundary is over a kilometre of stunning rainforest creek, there is a large pond on the land, and the views of the world heritage national parks and caldera of the ancient volcano are spectacular. We eat very well, having an international cooking capacity; we are not extreme, but cook only vegetarian food generally. Currently I'm also designing and implementing a beautiful large (75 hectares-185acre) nearby property, focusing on functional integration of water management, cabinet and structural timbers, rotational grazing, food forest, small cropping and biodiversity. This is a long-term project.

I joined WWOOF because it is a very flexible and cheap way to travel or live on a short term. I moved back to Romania from Australia in 2017 because of my mother healthy issues. This year I am planning to return to Australia because I have already put in place a proper arrangement for somebody to look after my mother. Being an adult person I am considering this return to Australia like a new start in life. Also I need a transition period of time (like a buffer) before joining again the workforce. A good way of taking the stress away from me is to use my hands and brain. If I can be involved in simple activities like wwoof-ing jobs and keep socialising with other people that will a great benefit. In the mean time I can activate my old friends network in a proper way for making a better decisions regarding my future career steps.

Wwoofing is the best option to combine learning so much as possible about farming in different countries with different plant cultures and seeing the world. I do Wwoofing since July in different countries in Europe and after Christmas I want to see the other side of the world.   My Instagram: annalenahargens

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
