We are a 40 acre farm with a young family. We run beef cattle, 2 pet donkeys, chickens, ducks and our 4 pet dogs. We have recently completed our permaculture design course but are still learning the ropes on growing food as we go. We have a small garden area with big plans to hopefully grow majority of our own fresh fruit and vegetables. We process our own beef for our family consumption and are hoping to start doing the same with poultry.

We own a double block in Newport on Sydney’s northern beaches. Our little boy Roki has a severe brain injury. We embarked on a mission to grow all his food (he is tube fed) and turned the block into a permaculture yard. We need a lot of help to complete it. We have lived here for one year. We have views on Newport Beach and we’re a short walk from the beach. As I do all the caring and therapy on Roki my husband Dave is left with finishing the yard. There are a lot of jobs he cannot do by himself. He is a carpenter and very handy. We will be looking for someone to come for at least 4-6 weeks to help Dave make more garden beds, assist with the compost making, planting, building pergolas for all the grape vines we need to plant etc. We have an awesome vintage caravan on the yard that can be accomodation for people. We know it’s not s farm but it is our little farm!

I joined WWOOF because I think it would be a fantastic way to see more of this beautiful country! I love to be outside as much as I can, and know that the volunteer work through WWOOF would provide the perfect opportunity for that.

I joined this community because we’d love to take our first steps working on a farm and discover that whole environment. I’ve worked in various food-related jobs, and now we really want to learn how our food is actually grown. We’re into wellness, we work out regularly, and we try to eat organic as much as possible. That’s why working on an organic farm would be the dream! We’re planning to live in Australia for a few years and want to make the most of it by having unique experiences we wouldn’t get anywhere else. The goal is to extend our visa for a second, or even a third year.

Kangaroo Island Olives' is a South Australian, family-owned agribusiness focused on regenerative agriculture. We deeply respect the environment and hold a fundamental belief in working with mother nature, not against her. We believe healthy soils grow healthy foods which make healthy humans. Our farm, located beside a heritage-listed wilderness zone, reflects our deep commitment to preserving the natural beauty of Kangaroo Island. Through regenerative farming practices, we protect and enhance the environment rather than deplete it. Our olive trees sequester more carbon than it takes to produce, ensuring that our products are not only delicious but also genuinely sustainable for years to come. Today, the family farm is known as 'Little Liguria’. Day to day farming activities are coordinated by Dom, whilst sons Michael and Vincent handles business operations. It is a mixed farming operation which includes olive groves, honey bees, seasonal grazing, and agri-tourism. Kalamata, Frantoio, Koroneiki, Leccino, Ligurian, and many more varieties of olives can be found on Little Liguria, with large areas of woodlands also dedicated to land care and wildlife conservation.

I joined WWOOF because I would like to help out on organic farms as part of my 88 days of specified work (to extend my working holiday visa for a second year). Given my background in environmental science and passion for a more sustainable way of living I believe WWOOFing is a better fit for me than regular farm work. I hope to get more hands-on experience in what it means to farm organically, to care for this beautiful country, and to learn more about the Australian culture and way of life.

I want to have fun cultural exchange with local people in Australia through WWOOF. Also, when I arrive in Australia, I need to get a tax file number, a bank account, buy a car, and other things to prepare for work, so I want to save money on rent until then.

Patchwork Jungle is a repurposed primary school in a small country township. Our Patch, set on one hectare is a mixed enterprise including herb nursery, market garden, berry and mixed fruit orchard as well as a coffee shop used to help value add with jams, cakes, juices, and hot foods. Close to the Murtoa Stick Shed, Little desert,  Grampians National Park, home of Halls Gap Zoo, and the Silo Art Trail make us a great destination to include in your travels, particularly if you have your own transport. We use the schoolroom as our central hub, with a number of out-buildings as extended living such as bedrooms, laundry etc and the cafe/shop is in two 'school portable' style buildings brought in recently.

We have been traveling for a while now and are looking for a bit of structure and stability. We’d like to learn some new skills and feel some sense of purpose as we continue to explore and discover what Australia has to offer. We are also both outgoing and people-oriented and hope to find a bit of community through WWOOF.

My friend who is also doing exchange program in Adelaide told me about WWOOF and I feel like I really want to try farm stay. I'm actually interested in agriculture and I was doing volunteer in farm when I was in high school in Japan. Since I came here, I've realized that Australian agriculture is so different from Japanese agriculture and now I want to know what the exact difference is, and I want to feel, learn and experience Australian agriculture.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
