Frankly this wine was made by bob
Short Property Description
We make natural wine in small commercial quantities at our property in Blackheath using organically grown grapes purchased from Orange & Mudgee. We also have a medium to large vineyard 30 minutes away that we are bringing back into production and this is where we spend most of our time working at the present time.
Full Property Description
A large shed at my property is my winery where we process around 15-25 tonnes of grapes a year. Our busy periods are all year except for late autumn (late April to early June) because of the vineyard work and doing all of the bottling and labelling ourselves. It is a very manual & physical procedure so good health and a reasonable degree of fitness is required.
Organic/Biological methods we use
The grapes are grown organically (possibly biodynamically in the future) and in the winery apart from a small amount of sulphur and citric acid (used for cleaning) no chemicals or other additives are used in the making of our wine.
Accommodation is in our family home. Our children have all left home but visit reasonably frequently particularly our son who is a winemaker and viticulturist and helps in the winery from time to time. Blackheath is a small town with a good range of shops and cafes and is a 15 minute walk from our house. Wwoofers are encouraged to be part of the family and eat and cook with us and use all the facilities of the house. Blackheath is a great area for walking and rock climbing and adjoins the World Heritage Blue Mountains National Park so if you like the outdoors you will like being here.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
My son has done years of woofing around the world and enjoyed the idea sharing and joy that comes from working with others. So we wanted to bring this onto our own farm.
