I would like the expand my skills as a amateur gardener into a full blown farmer and to meet other like minded people along the way. I believe food is medicine so the more people that know how to grown their own, the better off our world will be.

I decided to join WWOOF, the best platform to learn directly from farmers and provide them support. I want to travel around to see different types of farms where I can extend my skills.

WWOOFing was a brilliant option for us as it means we can integrate ourselves into the communities of the places we visit as oppose to just visiting as a tourist on holiday. Before planning our trip, we wanted to give back to all the places we visited by doing some charity work in each location. It doesn't cost and it's also a good way to add to the experiences of our trip. After we heard of WWOOFing however, we realised this would be a much better way of really getting off the tourism wagon and finding our own path with local people, local food and our own experiences. It was also a good way to extend our trip, as the exchange of work for boarding and food cuts costs. Working in different locations and on different farms will give us our own personalised experiences, and helps us avoid the over-crowded touristy destinations, which only show a small part of Australia's true limitlessness.

For most of my life I have made decisions based on money. I would like for a period of time to learn about permaculture, building, gardening, cooking, foraging, and maybe even some woodworking if possible. If someone has a retreat center I would also love to learn how it is run and what it takes to own a business.

I have started my own family garden where we live but have no experience with gardening. I hope that by working on farms, I'm able to take back some of the knowledge to allow for more successful gardening experience at home.

My passion in life is connecting with others, and learning from those that have lived a different life than mine. I am an open minded person and an avid learner, who is constantly craving adventure and new experiences. I am motivated to spend next year learning from people of different backgrounds and lifestyles. I already have some knowledge about organic farming, but I am excited to learn more.

I want to join WWOOF to travel Australia in a way, that’s on the one hand closer to actual Australian people and on the other hand away from stuffed, expensive backpacker hostels full of drunk folks. I want to travel affordable, experience Australians, have a good time and want to meet lovely people!

I would like to learn how to do organic farming as I am aware of protecting environment through the practice of organic farming. I would like to expand my knowledge of gardening and learn more about plants and how I can use natural way to fertilise the plants. I live in a unit where there is little space, but I love gardening. This would be the best way for me to enjoy gardening and exchange experiences and learn new skills. I am currently keeping miniature fruit trees and native plants and would like to learn more about the version of the large plants and hopefully I can use that knowledge to maintain and transform those mini trees into Bonsai-type plants where I can keep them in small space. I also like to get myself fit with a free accommodation that I can give back and keep myself busy during my times away from home. I also have carpentry knowledge and sewing.

As a familiy meeting my brother in Brisbane, we also want to do something in our holidays (not just lying on the beach). Nora has already been WWOOFing in Canada for several weeks and was totally excited. In my two times before in Australia I also met several people who recommended picking fruits and doing farmwork in down under.

I'm hoping to gain some hands on experience with farm animals, while getting the chance to immerse myself in Australian culture. While my main goal is to work with animals, I'm very much open to other kinds of farm work as well. I don't shy away from trying something new!
