The two of us : We are two friends who want to have a new experience. We will arrive in Australia on September and we thought that the best way to meet people, locals, share expereinces and find a work that motivates us is by joining WWOOF. We have also spoken to people who already have done that, and they were happy about it, they said that was very good experience, which helped us in our decisions. We look forward to reading your responses.

I am a home gardener looking to improve my skills in growing my own food. I have always loved cooking and discovering new foods which lead me to start gardening. I have a simple patch in my family's home and I get lots of joy out of it. I am looking for something hands-on to do during my university break.

I've heard about the positive experiences of other WWOOFers, which made me very excited. I love that this organisation is focused on organic farms, it has a personal touch, and the whole experience seems very fulfilling to me. I like the idea of a small farm/community where you live with. I'm excited to meet more people and get a more realistic idea of life in Australia and maybe a clearer idea of what I want in my future.

I think woofing offers great possibilities. I like the values around this principle. I also think it's a good way to stay with the same people during several weeks and to meet them deeply. The principle of mirror help is good on my part. this is the first time in my life that I engage in woofing and I hope for a great experience for all.

I want to make many memories and try myself in various fields of work! I grew up in big cities and would like to know how it is to live close to nature. To work on a field, under the sun while actually doing something with my own two hands, rather than study. And I hope to learn many new things, from the hosts, but also from fellow volunteers!

I want to make new experiences and to meet locals so I get to know the actual daily life in Australia. While travelling you meet a lot of other travellers, stay in hostels and visit tourist attractions but you rarely come in contact with locals. I'm really interested in Australian culture and want a first hand experience what it's like to live there. Furthermore my daily job as a psychotherapist is really fun and interesting but it only proves successful after a long term. So you have to do psychotherapy with a client for weeks or months until you see actual progress. For my Working Holiday I want the experience that after a work day I can say: Today I harvested XY, I cared for XY animals, I repaired a fence and so on. So I'm really excited to see what you can show me.

Skills I Want to Learn:
Since I have quit my office job,  I have wanted to discover how it is to work in a farm since I like being in the nature and doing a physical activity. I want to become a WWOOF volunteer to learn about sustainable farming and also get to know a community of local people. Being a WWOOF volunteer would also give me time to find a job (potentially in an organic farm) without having to spend money on food and accommodation while looking for it.

To experience the lifestyle of living on a farm, and the maintenance & animal care that is required. I grew up in a small suburban unit but through meeting friends with an interest in 4wding and exploring, I quickly realised how much I love being out in nature and the peace it brings. Long drives (while blasting some Zach Bryan and Warren Zeiders of course) is my ideal quick getaway. I would love to learn more about managing horses and cattle while maintaining a large block of land.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
