I will be travelling in Australia for several weeks in November/December/Januar on a tourist visa. Just recently, while planning this vacation, I found out about the opportunity to meet Australians and share a glimpse of their daily lifestyle by volunteering in exchange for accomodation and food for a week or so. Hope to learn about permaculture, organic gardening, sustainable lifestyle, maybe bee keeping (I used to have bees myself). Great concept. Great people to meet.

We love to help out and be active. By volunteering we get to know the way of life of the locals and see the world through their eyes. We have volunteered on 2 other wwoof farms in Canada and really liked it. We did some other volunteering in Central and south America as well.

I joined WWOOF a few years ago during our first visit to Australia. This time, we’ll be in Australia until February 23, traveling as a family. We want to give our children the opportunity to learn more about where their food comes from and to experience Australia in a unique and meaningful way.

In 2022 I did wwoofing in Tasmania with three different hosts, I had a blast. I learnt so much. I met so many beautiful people. The experiences have really made an impact on me. I really love mumma nature and I’ve started to realise how little I know and how much I want to learn! I hope to connect with people and share stories and skills, and ideally make more friends from this wonderful exchange!

As part of our Working Holiday Visa (WHV) adventure in Australia, we see WOOFing as one of the best ways to truly integrate into the local culture and way of life. By working directly with hosts and contributing to their projects, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of the country’s unique work ethic, traditions, and lifestyle. For us, WOOFing is not just about exchanging labor for accommodation—it’s a chance to connect with people, learn new skills, and experience the authentic day-to-day life of Australians. We believe that this hands-on approach is the perfect way to immerse ourselves in the local culture while making a meaningful contribution to the communities we join.

For me Volunteering is about giving back to the community and getting to know cultures and the people who represent them. It´s always a way to feel useful, helpful and find a purpose. Also, an easier way to find peace in a crowded city or escape that one, or just like-minded people.

We joined WWOOF because we want to get to know locals in Australia. We love sightseeing but we also love discovering the rare country itself. Especially farms are interesting for us, since we both love vegetables especially eating them. In Germany most products come from mass production, that’s why we are really interested how local farms produce their products. Our wish is to experience different kinds of farming to widen our knowledge about this topic.

I feel alive when I get into a new environment and I like the moment when I realize this world is wider than I imagine. It makes me humble and thankful. That’s why I’d like to learn and experience more about other lifestyles and culture.

I’m interested in sustainable and healthy cultivation of natural products, because I think this is the best way to provide people and ourselves with healthy and valuable products. The food industry with its highly processed products tends to put me off and I would like to use the time of my trip to learn what the proper cultivation of natural products looks like and how it works. Furthermore I want to make new experiences and learn through practical work to understand Agriculture and own cultivation better. On top of that my big Goal while travelling around the world is to meet a lot of new people and get to know their philosophy of life. I really want to make new experiences to see the world and the life from many perspectives.

This year, I will have completed my Bachelor's in Environmental Biology and Chemistry, but before heading into a Master's degree, I'd like discover the wonders of Australia, explore the cities, learn more about the culture and what environmentally friendly farming really entails. It's one thing to study it in a classroom and in labs, but I'd like to know how it goes on a real farm. It's also the perfect opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and gain some perspective away from the tiny French village I've lived in for most of my life. As I'm quite shy, this will be great way for me to meet people and make some new friends. I'm not intimidated by hard work, having helped my parents in our own garden with construction, maintenance and tending to our veggie plot. If you'll have me, I'll be more than willing to help around with any and all tasks that need to be done.

I have travelled by bicycle from Canada to Peru, and have experienced so much kindness and compassion from people along the way. I always enjoy meeting new people and sharing stories. WWOOFING is a great place to meet people with the same values and ideas. It can be a very rewarding experience for everyone involved. I enjoy learning new skills and pass on knowledge to others also. I Hope to have my own property one day to help out travellers and fellow WOOFERS along the way.
