Something like Wwoofing is new to me because there is no such thing in Germany. I really like the concept of it because it allows you to get to know new people and their culture. I also find it interesting to work on family-run farms and get a place to sleep in return. This gives you safety in a foreign country. Moreover it´s a cheap way to experience a country. I hope I will get an insight into everyday life, which will allow me to improve my English and perhaps also some tips for my further journey

I joined because I wanted to contribute my time and effort to something meaningful while also gaining my second visa. This opportunity allows me to connect with new people, learn new skills, and give back to the community, which is something I deeply value. Additionally, it aligns with my goals of personal growth and cultural exchange.

In my opinion, WWOOF was a great way to start working and traveling in Australia. Without having a permanent place to live, it was a good way to gain first experiences with the work and people here. There is still so much to learn from each other and many great opportunities for cultural exchange as well as nice conversations. This kind of work is also completely different from my daily tasks and activities at the university, so I see it as a nice way to balance and discover new things.

I’m really hoping to achieve knowledge sharing between two different worlds and two different environments. I’m looking for a really positive skill sharing experience, even though we all keep similar breeds of livestock globally there are a million ways of doing the same thing! Also looking to keep costs down whilst I wait for my work visa and permanent job to start and I’m more than happy to provide my labour and skills to hopefully earn a roof over my head and a little bit of grub!

I have mental health issues and find sunlight, exercise and honest work very helpful. I have extra time at the moment to work on things and help out. 4 hours of outdoor work will be ideal for me at the moment. I love to be amongst nature and gardens.

I joined WWOOF because I am seeking an experience to form valuable connections with the owners of small farms in Australia. I am excited to learn about the agricultural and food practices in Australia, as I am passionate about food access, safety, and sustainability issues. I am currently on a Studio Art Program, and I would greatly value the opportunity to explore the agricultural landscape of Australia and appreciate the beauty of these environments.

I joined WWOOF to connect more with parts of the local community through working together outside. I believe that doing this kind of work with hosts offers a unique opportunity to spend time outdoors doing something meaningful that connects me with the environment and learning from the people who live there. I would love to commit my time to projects that are good for both the community and nature. I also believe some of my previous gardening and outdoor work could be applicable, and look forward to improving these and learning new skills!

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
