Short Property Description
Come to Kongwak, the ‘Valley of Peace’, where over the last 20 years I have created a thriving permaculture garden on less than 2 acres, which provides our family and local community with fresh, organic produce and plants. I have also set up a small nursery In our little town, where we propagate and sell a range of native, indigenous, permaculture and edible plants and produce. The nursery is based at the popular Kongwak Market, where I have also established a community garden called the Secret Garden, where I run regular workshops about permaculture, composting, medicinal plants etc.
Kongwak is a beautiful little village in the heart of South Gippsland, only 15mins from Korumburra, Wonthaggi, Inverloch and lovely beaches. We are about half an hour to Phiilip Island and one & a half hours to the magnificent Wilson’s Promontory.
We can provide accommodation to singles, couples or small groups of friends. We currently have a small dog & some chickens. Short and long term stays welcome!
Organic/Biological methods we use
We use organic practices and methods including companion planting, composting and weed management. Permaculture principles are also used on the property.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
Since first learning about permaculture and doing a PDC nearly 20 years ago, I have loved the idea of WWOOFing! I have been a WWOOF host for over 15 years,. My son (now 16 yo) and I have hosted many WWOOFers over the years and we really enjoy sharing our home and lifestyle with travellers from around the world. We especially enjoy the cultural exchange of learning about other countries, languages, food etc. We also love showing our visitors the local area and other tourist attractions. I am passionate about teaching permaculture and other organic practices as well as inspiring others to live a more simple lifestyle in harmony with mother nature!
