By travelling basically to the other side of earth , i would like to escape the crowdy citylife and reconnect with nature. Henthforth i‘m really keen to bond with new people and to explore Australias unique nature and culture of it’s people. In my opionion organic farming is really important, when it comes to mantaining a healthy soil and nourishing the body without eating food that has been exposed to all kinds of chemicals. Having respect for nature and its creatures is essential for a Future on a happy and healthy planet.

I have been interested in sustainable ecosystems since I had one lecture on biodiversity at university. However, I had no chance to learn until now. As one of my friends once told me about WWOOF, I felt I had to join it. I hope I can learn and experience something new from hearing what the hosters experienced through what they have done.

Many Australian plants come to Japan. I liked to make bouquets and arrangements with them and took care of some Australian plants at home. I want to know how they grew up in Australia and learn more about them.

I would like to work outside in the nature in fresh air - amongst animals and nice (international) people. I would like to get to know country and people a lot more intensively. I think, I will be able to discover Australian culture and its people while living with an Australian family. I would also love to learn a lot about organic farming, environmental rehabilitation.

We have both been wanting to do volunteering on our trip but didn’t exactly know when and where. Then we heard about woofing from two Danish girls we met on our trip and they said it was some of the best things they had done while traveling. They showed us pictures working on a farm and it just looked amazing, fun but also challenging. Exactly like something we wanted to do. It is the perfect opportunity for us to experience the culture and local life. And now we here 😀

We have chosen WWOOF because we think the concept is cool and a good possibility to find work in different parts of Australia. The platform offers a way to get in contact with farmers and later on with their way of living. Furthermore we are looking forward to maybe try out new volunteer work which is not so common here in Germany. Generally we support the idea of organic farming and believe that you can't be too young to start. We hope to not only meet new people through WWOOFing but also learn new things, methods, to help out, pitch in and make a difference on the farm.

Recommended by a friend which I'm travelling with. A good experience to share and a fun way to see different places while travelling. Hopefully a good way to learn a thing or two as well as help out where I can.

I started wwoofering in New Zealand 2020. Through it I met some amazing hosts and life long friends in other wwoofers. It took me around both the North and South Island and taught me skills I would have never imagined I would have gained, such as milking, commercial gardening, deck building, coffee roasting, weeding (heaps of weeding!), and very fortunate all while having a laugh. I’ll never be able to express the appreciation and gratitude I had for my hosts welcoming me into their home, offering me a seat and their table and sharing the passions and skills with me. To become a member of someone’s family when thousands of miles away from home is truly an amazing thing that wwofering offers and what I enjoyed so much from my experience of doing it in New Zealand. So to get back into now in Australia feels like the right time and wanting share the bonds I previously be able to experience.

With 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the petcare and animal health industry, I'm excited to explore my passion for sustainable agroforestry,  indigenous nutrition and regenerative farming. As an aspiring farmer, I believe that WWOOF offers me a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced hosts, and contribute to sustainable agriculture efforts. I'm passionate about growing biome appropriate native Australian plants, medicinal herbs, fruit and nut trees, as well as shifting to 'home-grown' perrenial food sources. As a volunteer, I'm eager to follow, learn, and reinforce my hosts' processes, and I'm open to working on a variety of farms throughout Australia. Additionally, I'm happy to share my skills in business, project/people management, and marketing with hosts who need help in those areas. Segregated from corporate capitalism, I want to help spread the word about regeneration, permaculture and a shift in mind-set for community led regeneration.

I have been recommended this resource by many friends. This is clearly a beneficial way for both of us and the hosts to gain from each other in a very wholesome and beneficial manner. My sister and I hope to achieve the goal of making new contacts with people and helping them in some way, shape or form! If we can do this then I think we have done at least one thing right on our travels! I also hope to find some new locations and properties that I can contribute my work to and open my eyes to a new place. We are eager to start our WWOOFing journey 🙂

I joined WWOOF as it is an alternative way to travel and discover new places and people. It is really is a unique opportunity to get out into the Australian countryside and experience the Aussie culture while learning about organic farming and how to live sustainably on the land. Also to help the people who were affected by the bushfires and floods, to make a big difference to support them.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
