Our property includes a farm, temple, and guesthouse, rural property surrounded by scenic rainforest. The farm includes a variety of crops, such as fruits, vegetables, and herbs, as well as livestock such as geese, and chickens. The farming practices are spray-free and sustainable, using methods that are in harmony with nature. We are located in Nimbin, a small town located in New South Wales, Australia, known for its alternative way of being and rich spiritual community. Our temple is a non-denominational spiritual gathering place that welcomes elements from all spiritual traditions. The temple is used for prayer, meditation, yoga, and other spiritual practices, as well as for larger community gatherings and celebrations including regular dances and other fun things. The overall focus of the property is on spirituality, mindfulness, and connection with nature. I and the other residents of the property share a commitment to living a conscious, intentional lifestyle that prioritizes spiritual growth and environmental sustainability.

I joined WWOOF to deepen my understanding of sustainable living. Coming from the bustling city of Singapore, the fast pace of life rarely allows me to stop and smell the flowers. My days are always packed with productive activities, often causing me to overlook how my actions impact the environment. Through this experience, I hope to become more attuned to Mother Nature and acquire the skills needed to lead a more sustainable life, benefiting both myself and the environment when I return to Singapore. I also look forward to meeting new people who share my interests, passions, and love for the great outdoors.

I’m joining WWOOFing because I want to connect with people on a meaningful level, learn more about the Australian lifestyle, and experience everyday life in a different setting. I’m curious to understand how others live, work, and see the world. For me, WWOOFing is a great way to exchange ideas, learn new skills, and contribute in a hands-on way. I’m excited to be part of daily routines, help where I can, and share stories along the way. It’s not just about traveling—it’s about building connections and learning from others through real-life experiences.

I am looking to try something new while I travel in my campervan which is my reason for joining WWOOF. I have always enjoyed growing my own food when I have had the space but would love to learn about permaculture and working with animals given the opportunity. I would also be keen to do any conservation work required as I am passionate about regenerating our native bush.

For me, wwoofing is a great opportunity to feel uselful by helping the hosts while meeting people and discover new cultures. In the meantime, I would also love practicing my english and learn more about this beautiful country. I’ve just obtained a conventional break-up with my current employer, so I think it would be the perfect time to have this experience.

I joined WWOOF because I wanted to step away from traditional work for a while and spend time learning hands-on skills connected to sustainability and food systems. After years in finance, I was drawn to something more grounded—working outdoors, contributing to organic farms, and reconnecting with how things are made and grown. It felt like a meaningful way to dedicate time to my personal interests while meeting people from different walks of life.

We own a 3 acre bush block with lots of gum trees - no animals, no crops. There are two dwellings on our property; we live in one and we also have a flat on the same property for our guests. Part of the flat is also my pottery studio. We would appreciate help with landscaping and jobs such as preparing firewood for the coming winter months. I am a full-time potter and I tutor workshops from my studio therefore I could use a helping hand with pottery projects and workshops. We do not have pets because we like to encourage the wild life, especially the Australian bird life. The trees on our property are also visited by koala on occasion.

I would like to spend my holiday vacations wwoofing and learning more about regenerative agriculture and sustainable productions, as I aspire to have my own production in the future. The past holidays I joined wwoofing and worked as a volunteer in a blueberry production Portugal with two friends. I really enjoyed the different activites and I am interested in learning more about this lifestyle and how to manage a food production.

I joined WWOOF because I want to spend more time on the land, learning about permaculture, regenerative farming, and other sustainable ways of growing food. I love the idea of exchanging knowledge, helping out, and learning directly from people who are doing it every day. For me, it’s about more than farming — it’s about connection: with nature, with people, and with the work we do. I’m hoping to share what I know, pick up new skills, and give my energy to projects that make the planet a little healthier.

We are Michelle and Aaron, a married couple from Adelaide, 15 minutes from the city. Our 2.4-hectare property in Belair sits in the Hills Face Zone with stunning sea views. The land is currently untouched bushland (formerly a quarry, then government-owned) and we’re starting fresh. Our vision is to create an off-grid permaculture paradise with an Earthship eco-home, food forest, and organic gardens. Right now, the work is about establishing the basics—weed removal, safe access tracks, and building a composting toilet—before moving into building the Earthship home, food production and regeneration. At this stage there are no amenities on site—we aren’t living there yet—so it suits self-sufficient WWOOFers with a caravan/camper. We only ask for a few hours’ help each week in exchange for a peaceful base surrounded by nature.

We chose to join WWOOF because we think it is the best way to discover Australia in an authentic way. By staying with families, we can share daily life, exchange cultures, and practice English while also helping with useful tasks. For us, WWOOFing is more meaningful than being simple tourists, because it allows real human connections and the opportunity to learn new skills while traveling.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
