We are both really interested in permaculture - having visited Melliodora and also attended to off grid festival last year. Zoe has experienced Woofing before in Chile. We are keen to work hard, learn and meet new people.

I want to have a break from the mundane of life and try something new. I think it would be good for me to get out and do something practical, something I have never done before. I love learning more about the environment and permaculture and sustainable practices. I hope to meet new people, learn more about organic farming practices, and experience something new.

We're drawn to WWOOFing because we're seeking a change in our lifestyle and want to live in a more sustainable way, closer to nature. We're here because we're eager to learn about gardening, farming, and eco-friendly practices firsthand. We're particularly interested in gaining practical knowledge about how to live more sustainably and be self-sufficient. Additionally, we're motivated by the opportunity for personal growth and cultural exchange that WWOOFing offers. We're excited to meet people from different backgrounds and communities, and we're looking forward to broadening our perspectives through these interactions. Overall, our motivation for WWOOFing stems from a desire to learn, grow, and live more harmoniously with the environment.

I’ve just started travelling solo around Australia, with the purpose of learning more about life, meeting new people, making the most of every experience and getting to see as much that this beautiful country has to offer as possible. As I said earlier, my close friends growing up always had woofers at their house so it has always been an appealing opportunity for travelling.

I joined WWOOF 2 years ago for the first time and volunteered on different farms. In these experiences I found it really exciting to be treated as a part of a team, get to know my hosts and how they ended up with their properties. I heard amazing stories and learned a lot about farming and different techniques. Now, me and my boyfriend wish to work on a farm preferably one that counts for our visa extension and learn more about farming. We are especially interested in organic and biodynamic practices, building, vineyard and winemaking and fruit and vegetable farming.

Wwoof sounded like a really good way for finding farm jobs around Australia. I really want to expand my work experience in farming and animal care, and being able to learn about local communities and the people living there. I really like volunteering  while travelling, being able to meet new people and work in more local communities! I also like that the Wwoof work focus on supporting organic farms, and I'm really interested in learning more about how organic and more sustainable farms work! I’m also very interested in learning more about animal care in different job environments, and with different species!

I joined WWOOF because I want to gain new experiences, learn more about farming, and meet great people along the way. I’m in Australia on my first Work and Holiday visa. And for me, this journey is all about stepping out of my comfort zone, discovering my strengths and weaknesses, and growing as a person. WWOOFing is the perfect way to do that. It allows me to learn new skills, experience farm life, and connect with locals in a meaningful way.   I also want to stay in Australia for another year, which means I need to complete my 88 days of farm work. WWOOFing is a great way to do this while actually enjoying the experience. I love the idea of working together, learning from each other, gaining new experiences and contributing to something bigger. I’m excited to help out, gain new skills, and make great memories along the way!

Our 1908 home is on 84 acres 6kms south of Violet Town. We have a garden with vegetables, herbs & fruit trees for our own use, based on Permaculture, ‘what grows best’ or ‘what makes us happy’ principles. One hundred and ten olive trees supply us with pickled olives & oil. An adjacent nature reserve (with our ‘private’ swimming pool!) provides habitat for abundant native wildlife including the elusive platypus. We enjoy seasonal foods. Robena is a talented chef who is happy to share her large kitchen. Accommodation in our house for 1-2 (couple or singles). Mixed shared meals. ‘The Gorge’ is a TV, STRESS & SMOKE-FREE Zone! P/u at Violet Town railway station (Benalla/Euroa b.a). Projects vary throughout the year & include gardening, weeding, watering, seasonal food processing & general maintenance. Fully vaccinated WWOOFers most welcome.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
