Aukje and Arthur at Trickle Hill in Cockatoo Victoria have been WWOOF Hosts for 10 years with over 100 WWOOFers in that time, they love to share their knowledge and all things Permaculture!

The family live on a 27 acre bush block, with 6 acres cleared, together with 6 horses, 3 dogs, pigs, chooks, ducks , indoor birds and reptiles.

Aukje and Arthur both work from home and create Art and beautiful unique wooden furniture, everything on the property they have built with Volunteers, right down to the natural swimming pool.

Cockatoo is only 45 km to Melbourne so if you arrive in Melbourne you can jump on a train to Pakenham or Berwick where they would be more than happy to pick you up if you don’t have a vehicle (arrangements to be made prior)

When you’re not WWOOFing and have some free time they are close to massive national and state parks, with trails for hiking and free camping. Also close to Puffing billy steam train, and Yarra valley wineries. It is a miracle they have time for working 🙂

Puffing Billy:

Take a journey on an original steam train through the scenic Australian bush which travels along the same line that first opened in 1900. Almost everyone involved in the railway is a volunteer who is passionate about running the train like it was over a century ago. Visitors may also choose to enjoy a first class experience aboard the train within a dedicated heritage dining carriage.

So if you would like to join in the fun and meet wonderful Hosts like Aukje and Arthur
