Meet George Mocatta who owns and runs a 140 acre award winning Vineyard in South Australia. The property is located near Goolwa, south of Adelaide in the famous McLaren Vale Wine district. Alongside the vineyard George and Jodie also run some cattle, chooks and have working dogs on this ocean front property. George loves dogs.
The WWOOF Office spoke with George in June, when you will find beautiful sunny days, even reaching 23˚ , perfect out of the wind. June is the time of year the George likes to layer his vines. This will provide optimal growth come Spring. While there is a farm manager on site, George likes to get out in the Vineyard and work alongside his WWOOFers.
In your free time there is a fire pit, canoes for exploring the wetlands and waterways, the beach and nearby wineries and towns. You may prefer to sit on the deck sipping a glass of wine watching the sun go down.
The accommodation is in a purpose built Worker Accommodation Unit (sleeping up to 8), fully self-contained. Mixed diet is available, shared with George and Jodie.
