About Me

Personal Bio

I’m Scott, I love building, gardening and reading. I built a magnificent shanty with a verandah when I was in my teens and also tried to grow tropical bamboo in a dry climate which didn’t really work but sparked in interest in gardening.

Hi, I’m Yasmin. I enjoy Gardening with a keen interest for indoor plants, propagation and arrangement. I’ve always been a very creative person and like all different mediums of art. I have tried my hand at Terrariums, Macrame, Sculpturing, Painting, Soap making, Pottery, Knitting, Mandala’s and a heap more. Would love to meet like minded individuals who can teach me new creative project’s or just hone in the ones I already have.

In my working life I have had many roles most involving customer service. I have worked as a Receptionist and Cleaner in the hotel industry. I also have more than 10 years experience working within the cafe/restaurant industry carrying out various activities such as kitchen prepping, Serving, Cleaning, Money handling and Coffee making. I volunteered ( 5 years) until recently at The Winged Horse Equine Rescue. I gained various skills working there, but probably the most valuable to me was observing animal behavior. This volunteer position started as a 2 week placement for Tafe to challenge myself as I was once deadly afraid of horses. I loved the sense of community as well as pride I felt from volunteering, my time there only came to an end due to moving.

Why I joined WWOOF

We joined to learn new skills ranging from the general to the more obscure and to experience different parts of Australia. Neither of us have really explored the country apart from occasional camping trips to the Flinders ranges and parts of SA. We w0uld also like to take this opportunity to find our dream location to settle down and hopefully be wwoof hosts ourselves oneday.
