    Short Property Description

Orchard Cottage grows field roses for picking, as well as hydrangeas and other flowers, on 1 acre. The roses are grown for sale to the general public and wholesale. I am situated in the hinterland of the Mornington Peninsula, overlooking Philip Island. If you would like to go sightseeing during your stay I am willing to drive you around. The closest beaches are Shoreham and Point Leo.

Volunteering includes picking roses, maintenance of rose bushes, weeding, mulching and general garden maintenance as the garden is open to the public and needs to be kept neat & tidy. As the garden is open to the public, we prefer English speaking WWOOFERS but not necessarily.

We start early at 7am and work 4-6 hrs. The work is not difficult, but we prefer those who are adaptable to a variety of jobs.

Accommodation within my home. Shared meals. Mixed diet. No children. No smoking on property. Initial stay is 1 week, longer stays negotiable depending on time of year.

You can get here by public transport – take a train to Frankston, then the 788 bus (Bay H) to Dromana where I will pick you up.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

I have been a WWOOF host since 2017 and have found WWOOFers to be the best company and helping hand.  I always enjoy having people come and stay and help with the gardens. I have plenty of work to do all year round – never a dull moment.
