    Short Property Description

Willow Springs is a fully certified organic farm, surrounded by huge old Eucalyptus trees, animals, birds and sprawling paddocks of wheat, horses and cows chewing their cud in the shade.  It’s a special place close to the Murray River and Echuca.

    Organic/Biological methods we use

Organic methods include: watering before sowing to encourage weeds to grow which we then plough back in, fertilising with compost, crop rotation, soil testing, timing watering carefully and generally being fussy.

We feed organic produce that we grow ourselves to our animals. We use no chemical sprays or inorganic fertilisers. We look after our soils by composting manures on farm and spreading these along with natural rock-based inputs (lime, Gypsum, rock-phosphate) to maintain a healthy soil balance.  We’re always learning.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

To share our beautiful farm with others and enjoy hosting inspired, buddying environmentalists! We hosted around 20 woofers over 2019, pre-Covid and missed them greatly over 2020-2022 and are excited to again host travellers. Each one brings their own skills and personality. We love it.
