I’m 28, a Sunshine Coast local and currently studying Horticulture, Conservation and Land Management. I love learning traditional skills and crafts, and I have a real passion for sustainable living. My thirst for learning gets out of hand sometimes – I have a never-ending stack of non-fiction books and every space I occupy gets covered in projects. I grew up in a small town on property and I’m really comfortable with animals and getting stuck in to the bush or the garden.
While I am a vegetarian, I’m totally comfortable if other people around me are eating meat.
Since I’m studying at the moment, I can only do short stays of around 3-4 days.
Why I joined WWOOF
I really want to learn about the reality of running a small farm or market garden, especially the business side. My dream is to live a self-sufficient life and fund it with a market gardening/small farming enterprise. Joining WWOOF seems like a great chance to work hard in exchange for learning the ins and outs of that lifestyle from people who are succeeding in it.
