I only spent a short week with Pam, but I learned a lot about the land - Pam is very knowledgeable about her land and gave some real insight into how to grow a futureproof garden. It's really cool seeing a place which has a harvest all year round. Pam is a hospitable and generous host and made an effort to show me new places and the surrounding area, which was really kind as the Haven is only accessible by car. I particularly loved swimming in the river after getting very hot and sweaty whilst working! Pam and I had some interesting conversations and she was very open about her beliefs and opinions. I think the sheep finally started to warm up to me after a few days 🙂 If you don't like being too remote then the Haven may not be for you, but otherwise it's a really unique place. Thanks Pam!

My week at Pam’s was so educational! She is incredibly knowledgeable about living with the land and the Haven is full of so many flourishing plants and herbs! Pam was so excited to share all her gardening knowledge with me and I learned more in one week with her than I could have ever imagined! I even got to help do some bee keeping and helped spin honey! Pam has so much love for the environment and for others and I felt so safe and loved while on her property!

Thanks for your review Ariana, you were a pleasure to host. It truly is wonderful to find a young person that is so keen to learn and willing to take the old knowledge on board. I pray that your gardens of the future get nurtured as mine are.

I had a wonderful time at Pam's haven. I stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed all sorts of tasks around the farm from feeding the sheep to chopping wood, and mulching, trellis building, and learning lots about permaculture along the way. The food was wholesome and the land is lush and green. Lots of wildlife around that kept me entertained aswell, such as legless lizards, geckos, tree frogs, scorpions and myriad different kinds of colorful birdlife. Pam enjoys a chat and is happy to teach and share her extensive knowledge of plantlife and of life in general. Cheers Pam!

We had a wonderful stay at Pamela's. Marc and I learned a lot from this Woofing experience, about the natural cycle of a garden. Pamela is a kind-hearted woman who is very generous. After a wonderful meal at her home, she prepared delicious meals for us using fruits and vegetables from her garden. The location is magnificent, with a small flock of sheep that she takes great care of. We slept in a very comfortable caravan, and the added bonus was the outdoor shower surrounded by nature, which made this experience magical. Thank you again, Pamela, it was a wonderful Woofing experience. Anne-Sophie and Marc (Thes Banana Cutter)

I spent a month at the Bucca Haven with Mrs. Pam and oh the things I learned 💜 I arrived through the gate and the first words I received was “welcome to my Haven”. A Haven indeed. Mrs. Pam is a natural born teacher. If u stand still long enough, she is pouring out her knowledge and understanding gained through her massive resume of 20 yrs of experience. Learning about the soil and the “zoo under our feet” was probably the most impactful education I gained. But not to exclude pruning the orchard and grooming the sheep, using the manure to grow nutrient rich dirt, chop n drop on the banana trees, learning about “bad grasses” and how to best eradicate them, cleaning the bana grass and using the remnant as mulch, the harvesting of the many edible greens we ate along with the fruit in our breakfast bowl daily. Attending craft days and learning valuable sewing skills and the play time of swimming/kayaking in the local S Kolan river. Beehive checks and honey consuming and purification process of bees wax to make hand dipped candles. And the food! Omg the food!!! Mrs Pam in the kitchen is something to witness. EVERYTHING I ate was clean, wholesome delicious ness. My stay in the camper was comfortable and more than enough personal space. The outdoor shower=probably best shower on the planet. And the Spiritual growth aspect was…divinely appointed. I am so grateful for my time on the homestead alongside this wonderful woman. I will carry this experience with me for the rest of my life. Highly recommend.

We spent 9 days with Pam this April. Her food is incredible, and we learned a lot about cooking techniques! Some other highlights were learning to beekeep and kayaking on our day off. The work was generally spread throughout the whole day, so the structure at Pam's was a bit more like a homestay than other WWOOFing places we've been to. Pam was very generous and inviting, and eager to share all she's learned with us. Thank you for your time, Pam.

Amy & Alexis were a joy to host, so willing and eager to learn new skills, new recipes, and new phrases like,' i't's a meany ' as in the kitchen spatula. Lol. I appreciated every moment spent with these lovely sisters, their parents must be so proud of them. They are great ambassadors for their family. They would be an asset to any host.

I spent two weeks here and I really want to thank you for everything! Even though my English wasn't very good, Pam and Peter taught me a lot of their knowledge. I learned about self-sufficiency, food, and organic gardens here! She made a very healthy and delicious meal that was mainly made with vegetables. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves food! Thank you Pam & Peter. I hope you have a wonderful day! Sorry for my late review

It was wonderful 1 week spending at the Heven. Pam & Peter are very kind and friendly. They have great knowledge about garden, animals and health. The garden has many kinds of vegies and fruits, so you can enjoy special meal from the garden every day. Also, sheep and chickens are very cute♡ I respect Pam & Peter because they never stop learning new things. I love their lifestyle. You would have amazing time at this farm. I’ve already miss Pam’s meal, animals, and beautiful property. Thank you, Pam & Peter. I 100% recommend!

Beautiful girl, Coco, like a daughter. You were an absolute joy to host, so interested in everything we had to share with you, such a quick learner & so very capable. Your parents must be so proud of you. Loved having you here.

Great little caravan to stay in among bananas, passionfruits & bamboos. Wonderful outdoor shower amid abundant sub-tropical gardens. Plants I have never seen growing before (being from Tasmania where it's too cold for them) include pigeon peas (great in soups), starfruit (delicious) & turmeric, extremely health-giving. Pam & Pete even put it in the sheep's food. Peter & Pam are both extremely generous in sharing what they have & what they know: peaceful people in a peaceful place. Thankyou for my stay and the new things I have seen, done & learnt.

My first wwoofing experience, and now all the other ones to follow have alot to live up to. It was such a wonderful place to be. Upon arriving I already knew I was going to like it at The Haven Bucca. Within a day I knew I didn't want to leave. I learnt so much and experienced so many different skills, (syntropic farming, log splitting, bamboo removal, making charcoal for the gardens, driving the tractor, being trusted to drive the tractor was a real pleasure for me, morning and afternoon feeding routine for the chickens and ducks, painting solar dehydrator) Just a few of the things I did. Pam & Pete involved me in every aspect of their lives. It was such a wonderful experience. Most certainly never went hungry. The food was so tasty and so good. Morning cuppas have never been the same since. Miss the menthe mint and lemongrass. Thank you for a great time, Pam & Peter. Thank you for involving me in your faith and one day would love to come back and spend some more time at the Haven Bucca. Sorry I'm late with this review

We had a great time at Bucca haven learning about syntropic farming, living without waste, a bit of fencing/building and of course some animal husbandry. Pete and Pam were gracious hosts who welcomed us into all aspects of their world. It was definitely an intensive training in living off the land and being smart with money. We learnt so much! They provided homely cooking with ingredients straight from the garden and a comfy caravan to rest our heads. You have access to your own toilet facilities and the option to use a beautiful outdoor shower. They are very passionate about their belief system and although we follow very different philosophies, it was nice to hear and learn about how other people live their life. Thank you so much Pete and Pam, we really enjoyed our stay!

Rose & James were an absolute pleasure to host. Being their first wwoof experience, we were most impressed with their work ethic, their desire to learn & their ability to be quick studies. We came home from a town day to find a lovely meal prepared for us., & it was most enjoyable. Give him free rein in your kitchen. lol. We enjoyed their company immensely. They are welcome to return any time. Highly recommended.

Only my second wwoofing experience but I already know that It should be one of the best one. Pam and Pet taught me a lot in only 2 weeks. I couldn't expected to learn as much in only 2 weeks. and what a good food I had here.. really tasty and healthy. Futhermore Pam and Pet are easy going, patient and reliable. I really appreciate to work and stay with them. Hope I could be back soon and learn even more. A huge thanks !!

We spent one week on Peter and Pams farm and we had a really wonderfull time. We didn't think that we could learn so much about gardening, cooking, food in general and so many other topics in such a small amount of time. The farm is one of the most beautiful places we've seen on our journey and we had so much fun with Peter and Pam. We were a part of their life for a short time and did many amazing activities like a kayak tour, playing pool or going to the pub and enjoying life music. Thank you so much! We had a lovely time and we can just recomment everyone to stay with you!

We spend our first two weeks as wwoofers at Pete and Pam's place. We could not imagine to find a better place to start: we enjoyed the work, the learnings, the food. Pam and Pete are easy-going couple, who are doing their best to be very good hosts, taking care of our needs, pay attention to speak slow, sharing their way of life. The works was gardening, wood work, chooks and ducks , all things needed to be done in a farm, everyday was different and rich of knowledges. Besides the work we had the chance to share with them kayaking and fishing time, pool and board game. Thank you very much. No hesitation to go to their place, it is lovely !

Franck & Morgane, what a pleasure to have you share a little of our life with you both. You were amazing wwoofers. See you again soon.
