Hey! My name is Tenille, I’m 20 years old and I live in Queensland, Australia. I absolutely love animals and being in nature. I love travelling and connecting with people through story telling and sharing life experiences. I am a keen learner, and am willing to give anything a try. Above all else, I love learning!
I’ve been WWOOFing since November 2020. Through my travels, I have developed an appreciation for regenerative farming and sustainable living. I want to explore these topics more as I continue to travel through the beautiful state of Queensland!
I am currently mid-way through a Sustainable Agriculture degree at university. While I love my degree and have learnt so much from it, there is only so much I can learn from a textbook. Each WWOOF place I have been to has provided me with a wealth of knowledge, which fuels my love of nature and sustainability, while also exposing me to real-life experiences that I am learning about at uni. I also enjoy connecting with people who work in the Agriculture industry, which may help me to build my future career.
I have always felt a strong connection to animals, particularly with dogs and horses, however I love all animals! I have been surrounded by animals my whole life, so I feel at peace when I am with them.
I love travelling and adventuring! So far, I have only been to China, Canada and most states on the Eastern coast of Australia. I have a very long list of places I would like to go to one day.
I am on a journey of self growth, and am grateful for each day that passes where I can learn something new about myself, the people around me or the part of the world I am in.
The decision to try WWOOFing is one of the best decisions I ever made, and I am so keen to continue this journey, meeting new people, learning new things and experiencing life to the absolute fullest.
I hope to meet you soon!
Why I joined WWOOF
Originally, I was inspired to start WWOOFing by my older sister, who spent months WWOOFing in the UK. Since then, I have learnt so much about the world, the Earth and myself. There is also a certain sense of adventure that comes with WWOOFing, with unexpected changes in plans, deep connections and the Universe always presenting me with new lessons to learn. Plus, everything I learn while WWOOfing is directly related to my uni degree, so thats an added bonus!
