Short Property Description
Jandarra is a 135 acre farm nestled in the hills 15 mins from the surf beaches of Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.
The property has walking trails through the hills, an orchard, chickens, cattle, vegetable gardens, worm farms and bee hives, rock pools and ten spring fed dams. Water comes from large tanks on the property.
Organic/Biological methods we use
Permaculture, biodynamic and regenerative agriculture methods are used in various ways on the farm. We have worms for vermicast, make compost teas and fertilisers using biodynamic principles.
Instead of insecticide ages to manage buffalo fly, we have built a buffalo fly tunnel, use Bos bags, and dung beetles are returning in droves to help manage fly larvae. No chemicals are used on the farm or in the farmhouse and we minimise plastic use.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
Jandarra is a beautiful farm and through our practices are observing a return of biodiversity and a healthy eco system. We are expanding our practices (most recently pigs as a rotation behind cattle to turn the soil over for cover cropping) and more vegetable gardens and fruit trees.
We love what we do and would like to share, also at times have help to manage the daily activities. We would also enjoy any knowledge brought to us by WWOOFers to share with us and move in the direction to create an abundantly healthy landscape for future generations.
