Short Property Description

We are only around two and a half hours north of Melbourne driving up the Hume Highway. Turning of in Euroa, and then driving up to the Tablelands of the Strathbogie Ranges. Our property is located around 28km from Euroa and 6km for Strathbogie General Store, which is always a good place to get a coffee and pick up your mail.

We, Karin & Kevin, Bruno & Regina (Friends) took over the Property a bit more than two years ago, and it has be an amazing learning curve. Our property is a working vineyard and a permaculture Food garden is at the moment a work in progress. New plans are prepared by one of our fantastic friends to expand the food production. Looking after the vineyard is the focus to create amazing grape which our winemaker turns into exquisite wine.

We created a secure sanctuary for the Chooks, Guinea Fowls, Quails, and a Vegetable Garden with fruit trees. A few months ago we added 6 Alpacas Weathers (Floyd, Cosmo, Omar, Merlin, and Heston & Jo-EL) to our ever expanding livestock collection. They are so inquisitive roaming around the house paddock. One of our Helpers has two beautiful dogs Molly and Dusty, black Kelpies guarding the property for us. Native wildlife is found everywhere on the property, from Mark Junior the resident Koala, wombats , echidna, Kangaroo, Black Wallabies, Deer, snakes, and native Birds.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

I came across WWOOF’s in conversations with a friend in Switzerland where I grew up, he mentioned the amazing potential of sharing knowledge all over the world about growing organic food. Having the opportunity to host WWOOFers is opening up so many avenues to share what we know and learn new techniques, to start securing a more natural food growing way.

Back to Nature, away from chemicals and genetic manipulation. The bigger vision is to have the vineyard run in an organised/ Biodynamic way, which will take an few years, but there is no better time to start than now.

We like to connect with people from any background, and are looking forward to sharing our home with you. Our home is not big, it is cosy and the resident Cats: Willow, Tiger, Skye and Noir are here to give you lots of attention wanting cuddles and some to play.

One of my other favourite things to do is cooking and baking and preserving food. Trying out new recipes form all different cuisine’s is so much fun, and all of my family and friends enjoy the results, making jams, tomato sauce, pickling veggies or dehydrating fruit.

The small herd of 6 Alpacas is grazing around the house.
