Full Property Description
Currently seeking a couple (or possibly a single person) keen for a longer stay (ie min 4 weeks) for building, gardening and general land-care. Due to the pandemic we are looking for people willing to remain on the property as we are isolating ourselves as much as possible.
Our 20 acre heritage-listed bush block borders on the beautiful Onkaparinga River (great for swimming!) in the Adelaide Hills, & is home to lots of kangaroos, koalas, possums, birds, etc. We have chickens, vegetable gardens & an orchard. We live in an owner-built passive-solar straw-bale house that’s completely off-grid (and still needs finishing off!). Accommodation in a beautiful straw bale cabin or caravans. We eat wholesome organic food, and would appreciate helpers to share with the cooking. We have internet, and all the basic facilities, and live a very simple life. Ben is a 47yo Migration Agent and owner builder who’s into daily mediation and yoga (happy for people to join in). He’s also passionate about sustainability, and working with like-minded people to build this community into an amazing retreat centre and showcase property for alternative living. Tamra (Tam) is a 42yo Massage Therapist and Healer, and loves being creative and making plants thrive! She dreams of having a food forest and is also a fantastic cook. Our four children stay with us part-time. Can pick up from Aldgate, Mount Barker, etc.
